  I think it would also be good to note that in reading the rest of Leviticus 20 that there are a number of things in it that are, well, “Questionable”. I’m not saying that the scriptures are wrong by any stretch of the imagination, but the interpretation preformed by humans today leads me to believe that many people are taking the bible and trying to form it to what they want it to be, similar to what King James did with it. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus+20&version=NIV, this is a rather good site to look up scriptures, but I would like to stress the importance of researching the Greek and Hebrew translations of the old testament, those being the languages that were commonly translated.

  Honestly people, why not? The Governor is representing on behalf of the “Human Race” not the bible of Christian morals. However, oddly enough, I don’t recall there being any portion of the bible that says, “A man/women cannot spend his life with/marry/commit/devote/unify etc. with another man/women.” Leviticus 20:13 states, “If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.” Please note that, sense Christ died for all of our sins that “Death” is no longer required as punishment. Didn’t notice it saying no to a celibate relationship between two men or two women. A fine point made by B_RAD, gay men and women are not the source of poor marriage values, but instead people who just aren’t ready for commitment. I have known several gay/lesbian couples who have been together WITHOUT marriage holding them together, *by law* I might add, and have lived happier than many heterosexual couples I’ve met. One of the most inspiring was a man I met at a store in Fort Worth Texas (Richard) who was with his partner for over 40 years!!! No wedding ring, ceremony, papers, legal obligations, just the pure and undying love for someone in this world.   So how many of us went to visit the site that, by the way, was never mentioned and didn’t eve show the “Search Bar” on the screen for people to see? I did this afternoon. I have been reading, watching, talking to representatives and thinking for some time about this. As much as I would like to have believed that the Planned Parenthood was doing all this crazy stuff, I couldn’t find much, if any, evidence that would have supported this article. Yes, the video about the penis, ******, anatomy and such were true, but they were NO where near as overwhelming as the report made it out to be! I am afraid to admit this, but this was a radical movement by this group. Whoever posted this article and video needs to regather his facts and present them.

  Have you even checked out the site? It actually has some very important info that most people and *Parents* either don’t know or will not discuss with their kids. I just visited the site for about an hour and a half and have read AND watched some of the videos. This is NOT for kids, I’ll admit that, but I would feel a little better if kids had somewhere to go that had well presented information that was anatomically correct. Look at the site first before passing judgment. Which, btw, the name of the site was never mentioned or was even visible on the screen of the video. Should that raise a red flag?

  Ok, lets face facts. His opinion would have been more respected had it been a personal expression formed as a representation of his personal beliefs. If he hadn’t released this through the school news paper, which is entitled to it’s own form of regulations, I would fully support his rights to expression and be very upset with the steps the school took in action. However, he used a government/school funded form of news distribution to impose his own beliefs and ideals about, not simply religion though that is part of the issue, but also intruding upon someones life style. This is where I agree with the steps taken by the school. If he does not want to abide by the schools regulations as to what one may report then he should start his own person paper and distribution service. Also, let’s consider the defense that is being presented. The argument is that Homosexuals should not be allowed to raise children. It was also stated that we (I being a gay man) cannot raise a child with another man because it will A) Cause confusion in the child’s life and make them more prone to committing suicide B) Is against scriptural teachings Levit. 20:13. This is a misuse of scriptural reference. If you read the scripture, it states that a man must not lie with another man like he would a women. This does not denote that two men can’t raise a child, but the we aren’t supposed to have sex. Which again is even up for debate. Also, there have been a number of studies done that supporting the

  If you can say that Homosexuals can‘t adopt because two men or two women can’t raise a child due to deficiency of opposite gender influence on the child, then it is just as easy to argue that a single mother, single father, Aunt, Uncle, Grandma, Grandpa etc. should not be allowed to raise a child or adopt on their own or alternatively paired because it sways away from common expectations of what a “Normal Healthy” house hold should be. This is a very poor formed argument. I applaud his efforts to have his voice heard, but there is a time and place for everything and that was not the way to do it.

  Hahaha!!! I just can’t help but laugh at the gay/furry reference that was accidentally made by MAN007! lmbo! This is far more emotionally moving confession than a coldblooded snake like you could even hope to understand. Your comment is completely expected coming from someone who, more than likely, wouldn’t know love outside of his own pants. It doesn’t surprise me that people who are like this man would respond like this (note I am not saying that all right wing members or republicans are like this). This is what we are met with when we entrust our feelings to a narrow minded, bloodless, self righteous , clodpate nut job of a right wing extremist. While I respect your opinion, you would have done better to have your lips welded together and crawled back into your churches basement and waited for the day that Christ returns, remaining silent and alone. This really riled me up, I don’t normally get this upset. However, the fact that this mans father took it so well is the most heart warming feeling any gay man could have! One of our biggest fears is rejection from our dads and to have this man say he still loves his son is so wonderful.   Sorry, this is actually for the man below. The guy who says that gays will rule the world some day lol Your so sweet :3 I‘d give you a kiss on the cheek if I didn’t think you’d explode the “Gay Germs” I’d give ya LMBO!!! Seriously? This is what you have to offer? I agree that a majority of the homosexuals I’ve met are very upset with religious rights to speaking against gays/lesbians, but to say that every gay man or women is ready to tear this country apart because they can’t do what they want is silly! I have dealt with a great number of people who have told me that “Your damned to hell” “You don’t know what your doing“ ”Your a sinner and should chop of you penis and testicles” etc etc. I have respected their rights to say these things and instead of trying to force them to change, I have made the biggest change to help solve the problem. The main issue was my family. My dad is a big time Rapture/In times man and has been devoted to God for 30years now; my mother is similar in that respect.My Aunt and Uncles are all Southern Baptist members or preachers who have started prayer circles hoping either: 1) My boyfriend dies 2) I end up having to become celibate 3) That I die so that, 1 Corinthians 15 “…his fleshed may be burned, but his soul will join the Lord in heaven…” It hurts to hear them say this, but I have never tried to force anyone to not say what is on their mind. I hope you might take the time to rethink your perspective of gays. There is hope.

  ….I believe there is a shirt that says exactly what I am hoping to communicate – “If only closed minds came with closed mouths.” There are far too many people who, though have all the right in the world to believe what they want to and feel how they want to, are cruel in how they act towards homosexuals. I myself am gay and while I am all for gay rights, I agree that I too find this act to be a little silly :D However, when was the last time you heard of a gay man/women running a explosive car into a Cooks Children hospital?! It is a very over dramatic statement to say that, in general, homosexuals are evil vile people. The same thing could be said about any other person. To discriminate against any one group of people because of race, gender, age, religion or sexual orientation is narrow minded and is what has plagued human kind with the problems we have today. This isn‘t to say that there aren’t stereotypes that fit the bill. However, If anyone believes that you can determine that someone is a bad person based completely off of the fact that they are (Gay, lesbian, black, white, rich, poor, skinny, fat, tall, short, Hispanic, Asian, American, etc. etc) then you cast yourself into the same fire as them. You are just as stereotypical as anyone else at that point! Just saying :D
