  • It’s weird how someone can make up their entire opinion of a group of people based on their personal experirence or what they see on T.V. You must hate the military too, and the catholic church, attorneys, tea party, beer compaines, energy companies, meter maids, CPAs, Doctors, ect. People in all professions screw up…don’t blast the entire profession.

  • Perhaps……in order to be a DRE (Drug Recognition Evaluator) the officers must actually evaluate someone under the influence of different drugs. Perhaps…..someone is arrested that is in possession of drugs, admits to using the drugs and volunteers to take the drugs and cooperate in a test with the understanding that they will not be arrested for the drugs. Does this change anyone’s opinion?

I can definately see how it could get out of hand.

  • @Toto

Any chance if the victim defended himself with lethal force the suspects would have been turned into law abiding angels who were victims of a bad economy and asocial injustice system?

  • I will preface my comment by saying I am a conservative and I think the use of UAV can be very useful to local law enforcement. Imagine vehicle pursuits that can be viewed by drones allowing pursuing officers to back off, which would most likely make the suspect slow his speeds. Gather intelligence on properties where a high risk search warrant is to be served. I feel the privacy issues will be worked out in the courts after lawyers and judges chew through the process.

The people that are against these sound like they want the police to wear blind folds? The police use their eyes, they use binoculars, they use night vision. They use their ears, they use wire tapping, they use cell phone tracking. This is another extension of things needed to fight and investigate crime.

When you call the police to report that your neighbors are dealing drugs they can’t get a warrant, just because you say so. There has to be some intelligence. This is just another way to get it. I agree the federal government is too big, but I believe the use of UAV would be useful to local law enforcement. This will not grow the government, only operate more efficiently and safely. You can’t complain about the crime in your community and not be open to the tools used to fight that crime.

  • Baseball is a game of judgment. If you want slow motion replays to take over the game then baseball is over. Umpires are human and will make mistakes, however the game is supposed to be for gentleman players and officiating and unfortunately if you show up an umpire (i.e. leave the batter box before the pitch is called) you are insinuating that you don’t need officiating. I think this player was shown that isn’t true.

Being a Major league umpire would be the next best thing to actual playing and these guys earn their money with the heckling on and off the field and the questionable calls being replayed over and over on ESPN so they are always remembered as the “Ump who blew it for my team.” If you think it’s an easy job try doing it on a weekend for some teenagers in your community.

There is always one side that isn’t happy.

  • I am not a theologian, but I can’t see how this is alarming. For many, the Bible is not an “exact” translation since it is difficult to translate the exact meaning from one language to the other. For example, I have been told that one commandment reads, “Thou shall not kill,” but have also been told that it actually reads, “Thou shall not murder.” Those are very big differences, especially if you are a God-fearing soldier. If it makes it easier for people to read and undestand, I am good with it, I guess.

  • If the event is charging a fee to get in then it is not open to the public and is a proprietary event. “The Management Reserves The Right To Refuse Service To Anyone”

  • There is alot of talk about wearing a hoodie making the kid out to be a gangster, while other defend the hoodie because they wear them and they proclaim not to be a gangster. I think there is a lot more to it and I am not speaking of the Martin case, becasue I don’t know.

I saw a kid walking down the neighborhood wearing a hoodie; zipped up, carring a book and had on dress shoes with one hand on his pocket looking straight ahead as he walked. On the next block I saw another kid, wearing a hoodie, walking like he has anal itch, pants at his hips, hands down the front of his pants and walking with his arms about four inches from his side like he is muscle bound. He is constantly looking around as he walks, like he thinks someone is watching him.

The hoodie is only part of it, there is alot more to a person’s appearance that can make someone skeptical of their intentions. I think some have a hard time describing it.

  • Wow, nice conclusionary statement. In cases of impending danger the threat of the suspect may outweigh the need for a clear backstop.

If I guy points a gun at me, someone else….or even you, I am shooting regardless of who is standing behind him.

  • I am embarrased to live in Washington State. Mr. Santorum, I apologize and unfortunately most Washington’s population live west of the Cascade Mountain Range, but if you ever visit eastern Washington you will a far greater conservative base. I would be proud to shake your hand.

Can someone give me an article of a liberal politician getting assaulted by heckler? I can’t think of one and it seems the liberals are the ones who are quick to get angry.
