‘Native American’ Elizabeth Warren Contributed Recipes to The ‘Pow Wow Chow’ Cookbook
May 17, 2012 at 4:24pm
Seeing as how Cherokee’s did not eat eggs in any major way (maybe a few wild bird eggs) until Westerners like the English and the Spanish introduced egg laying chickens to the New World, it’s hard to see how a crab omelet could be considered Cherokee Pow Wow food.

Baptist Leader Delivers Stinging Rebuke to Fellow Christians: ‘We Are Guilty of Our Own Form of Homophobia’
April 29, 2012 at 9:06am
Amen to that. Homosexuality is no worse a sin than unwarranted divorce. But more importantly, the New Testament shows Christ has a message of love and acceptance for all who repent and believe–the homosexual, the adulterer, the thief, even the murderer.

Texas Homeowner Guns Down Teen Burglar
April 10, 2012 at 8:32am
14 is old enough to know what you’re doing is wrong, but plenty young enough to be caught up in doing something stupid with friends that you would never do on your own or later in life. I take it you’ve never regretted anything you did at that age?
The homeowner was within his rights to shoot, but I highly doubt whether this shooting was necessary (simply based on the facts given in this article). Protecting yourself and your home does not mean you have to kill the thief. I’ve saved myself from a robbery without ever firing a shot. Point it at them and tell them not to move while you call the police; fire a warning shot if you need to, but fire at them only if you are in mortal danger. God made all life sacred; we should never be eager to see anyone killed, especially not misguided teenagers who have the potential to shape up and become productive members of society.
Police Arrest 2 OWS Protesters After They Allow NY1 to Record Their ‘Subway Sticker Campaign’
April 7, 2012 at 6:12pm
With what kind of money in the bank? Last I checked the MTA was over a billion dollars in debt, which is why the NYC subway system sucks in many ways. The flat fare system makes no economic sense.

‘Die, Die, Foreigners!’: 2,000 Angry Afghans Rally Against the Burning of Korans at a U.S. Air Base
February 21, 2012 at 11:19am
@SAMIAMTWO
It wouldn’t have mattered if we invaded or not? Really? If we hadn’t invaded or had stuck to our real mission (getting those responsible for 9/11), we wouldn’t be there to have burned any Korans either accidentally or intentionally. And if you‘re trying to make a comparison between Muhammad’s followers in the 7th cent. vs. the Arabs and the Muslim world today vs. the Christian West, you’re more misguided than I thought.
I have no idea where you’re trying to go with the whole Barbary pirates/build up of our Navy thing. Do you somehow think they prove all Muslims are out to get us? If so, you’re ignorance cannot be helped. Do you for some reason think that they invented piracy, proving they’re militant people? European naval powers had been privateering for centuries by that point. At same time as the Muslim pirates were holding our men ransom, the Brits were also capturing our ships and impressing our sailors into the British Navy. Really not sure where you’re going with that in reference to the issue at hand. But thanks for “bringing me up to the 19th century”.
‘Die, Die, Foreigners!’: 2,000 Angry Afghans Rally Against the Burning of Korans at a U.S. Air Base
February 21, 2012 at 11:11am
@AJAYW
I‘m not going to move there because I’m not a Muslim and would not in fact fit in as you say. But good come back, I’m super offended.
There is a vast difference between the average and the militant Muslim. There are millions of Muslims living peacefully in this country and well over 1.5 billion living worldwide. If they were all militant, there would be a much higher body count on both sides. You never hear them speak out against militancy because a story about an Afghani family wanting to live in peace doesn’t exactly bring in the ratings like a story on the Taliban burning the American flag.
