  • It‘s those like you who need to learn your country’s history AND you need to read about how space exploration and the NASA program impact our daily lives. And just in case you had no idea where to start learning about NASA’s impact on our daily lives, here are some links where you can do just that:

  • Are You Ready to Pay $50 for a 100-Watt Bulb?

    May 17, 2011 at 4:37am

    In reply to Brock.

I want to know where the whiny environmentalists are on this light bulb thing. Do they not realize that the mercury in them is TOXIC and you have to remove EVERYONE from the room if you should happen to break a bulb in your house? Have they even READ the directions for disposal of these bulbs? HELLO?

Does anyone remember the show Glenn did waay back in his first year where he had Stu outside the studio in a hazmat suit breaking a mercury (squiggle) light bulb and then read through all the directions on how to clean it up and dispose of it printed from the Fed Govts web site? It was INSANE to say the least.

It just blows my mind that the environmentalists aren’t trying to stop this one.

  • I TOTALLY agree with NOCOMMENT’s post ~

“I cannot understand why there are frequent complaints regarding the varying content on The Blaze. An incessant stream of ‘political crapola’ can make you NUTS. I enjoy the ‘side stories’ Blaze… keep ‘em coming.”

Blaze, keep up the great variety of articles and thank you!

  • Actually, this is only the last launch of the Space Shuttle Endeavor. Space Shuttle Atlantis will be the absolute LAST launch sometime in July.

  • @CATB: The FL launches are from Cape Canaveral at the KSC, not Merritt Island. I grew up watching the space shuttles launch while visiting family in Cocoa Beach. I‘m sad it’s ending.

It is amazing though what we have in our everyday lives thanks to the space program. Here is a good article about what products we use.

    >>>>The NASA space program has enriched the lives of people on earth, unknown to most benefiting every day from the technology derived from NASA inventions, space travel, and space exploration. The perception of NASA that the general public has is something out of Star Trek.

The question is asked, “What has NASA space travel and exploration ever done for me?” Many products have been developed as a result of space exploration, space travel and space technology.

Here are just a few of the hundreds of devices and inventions that have been developed from knowledge gained with NASA space engineering: TV Satellite Dish / Medical Imaging (Cat Scans) / Telescopes (that look for cancer) / Vision Screening Systems / Ear Thermometer / Fire Fighter Equipment and Suits / Smoke Detectors / Cordless Tools / Aerodynamic Wheels / Thermal Gloves and Boots / Space Pens (That write upside down) / Shock absorbing helmets / Ski boots / Failsafe Flashlight / Invisible braces for teeth / …

I’m running out of room, so read the rest of this article at: http://www.suite101.com/content/nasa-space-technology-inventions-and-products-a200024.

  • I haven’t commented before, but this video just made me sign in to say that George Stephanopoulos is a GIANT LIBTARDED JERK. And I‘m being nice because I don’t want to get censored.

  • @CHRISTIANLAYMAN: Very well said. Thank you.

  • I am saddened to read this news. Glenn, I have and always will wish you and your family the very best. I am of the same opinion as others here: We NEED you to help keep us informed because no one else is willing to do it. I HOPE that maybe you’re going to start your own network channel and stay on television to keep telling the truth, but just not with Fox.

However, FOX NEWS CHANNEL, NOW HEAR THIS… You have LOST me and my family as viewers once Glenn Beck leaves your network. The others on FNC are not telling enough TRUTH to keep me watching. If I had Fox Business, I would still watch John Stossel. The only problem with that is we don‘t get FBN on our lower channel tier and can’t afford to pay the increasing costs of cable. Our bill just jumped up AGAIN without ANY notice – no thanks to Cox Communications.

Another thing, this better NOT be the evil “Spooky Dude” or his evil “Helpers” getting their way and that is all I will say about that.

I really DO hope Glenn has something else in the works. If not, well that’s just too damned depressing to even think about right now. I guess I’ll just enjoy the time we have left together every day while I can…

  • Who does this Cenk Uygur think he is? People like him are what is wrong with America. Who is he to decide what Colton saw as a 3 or 4 year old wasn’t real? It’s stories like this that give many people hope and the will to keep living; especially with all the turmoil and upheaval is going on in this world currently. God help us all, even those who don’t believe in you.

  • Mikey Moore must have been talking about his OWN money since he hates capitalism so much and wants to spread the wealth. How about it Mikey? Spread, to the rest of us, some of YOUR wealth.
