  Im thankful for the trial Mr. Beck has been through. They have made him strong enough to be who he needs to be now, just like our struggles strengthen us. Thank God Glenn chose to follow Him.

  He’s 6! The fact that he could catch it should make the news. The fact that he thought to touch a base ANY base, is also newsworthy. The fact that he was aware of someone running from 2nd, also a MAJOR event. Putting them all together? His daddy better build a field in his yard, and start inviting the family over to watch him “shag a few” while he’s still accessible. In a few years – he’ll be signing contracts and talking through a wad of “Big League Chew”.

  Don’t cry for the boy, CLAP FOR HIM!
  I know it’s all emotional and everyone gets all teary eyed, but think about it a minute. The boy worked hard, he probably did enough crying when he was frustrated at falling or failing. Now everyone’s crying?!?

  No thank you. I’ll clap, and cheer, and whoop it up for the little man who achieved something incredible in his life. High fives all around, and a pat on the back, and then point him in the direction of the next challenge to overcome. (Okay.. after hugs, cake, and ice cream to celebrate – then we’ll point him toward the next hurdle.)

  Don’t cry and feel sorry for him and tell him well done, as if he’s finished. Keep him moving forward, and don’t EVER let him think anything is too difficult for him. Let him try, fail, try again, and eventually he will succeed.

  So I say “HOORAY” for him, and “THANK YOU” to his daddy, mommy, and siblings for their sacrifice of time apart from each other for me, and everyone else in the country.

  So, you mean the fact that he stuck to his beliefs, continues to follow his heart and tell you exactly what he believes threw you off the train? If that’s what did it, you’ve got issues.

  If you “lost faith” in him for not taking the easy route and falling in line with the typical media talking heads, you should rethink your priorities.

  I‘m glad he’s not a “contender”, because what he was contending with was mediocrity at best, and hypocrisy at worst.

  Try finding the courage to stand up for what you really believe in, and see what kind of character it really takes to throw off the trappings of the world in order to sink everything you have into something you believe in, and then see if you don’t see Mr. Beck in the light that the rest of us see him in.

  He’s not soaking up the blinding stage lights of the red carpet runways, but the subdued lights of the kitchen table, where you sit with those you trust and have confidence in. Where you talk about all the scary, wonderful things in life that keep you up at night, and get you going in the morning.
