  • It is fair that the Blaze is reporting this story to show that bigotry does still exist on the right. The left will get hold of this and have a field day with it. It is also a glaring example of how there are many completely NON Christian “christian” Churches. This church, just like the Westboro Baptist Church gives all TRUE Christians a bad name. Until color is only a descriptive term in any discussion involving race like Blonde or Red hair are, we will be forever plagued with bigotry of this kind. This man and woman are true Christians looking at what is in each others’ heart first–well beyond the mere color of skin.

    In reply to bernbart.

Sadly, I once thought the same thing until I found it costs me MORE now WITH mandated insurance coverage by New York State to cover chiropractic care. The cost was so much during an acute episode needing multiple visits for back care for my husband BEFORE it was mandaed to cover chiropractic. We were put on the practice family plan which meant all of us could go for $5.00 a visit. Now that coverage is mandated–the practice is no longer able to negotiate cost of care due to contract obligations. Interestingly, the practice did not take one particular HMO as the HMO forced a copay that was $5.00 MORE than the cost of the visit.
On another note: my 25 year old neice who did not have medical insurance was able to negotiate the “Canadian cash price” of $425. for an MRI of her knee–the going insurance rate for this is $1080. the MRI facility (yes we live in a city on the Canadian border) told her they still made a profit with this–by the way, this was before the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US greenback. Weneed Torte reform and insurance competition FIRST!

  • The way she read her statment reminded me of inflections/animation we use as parents in reading stories to our kids–it sounded like she was acting it out vs stating details of a potentially traumatic event. She sounded very fake to me

  • Greed and debt-the debate started with these. Debt is a ymptom of greed at ALL economic levels. DEBT is the result of spending more than you have whether it be a private individual, bank or blind government! Funny how credit cards didn’t exist until 1956-then Diner’s Card came along but had Many restrictions and had to be paid off every month. GREED fueled the increased use of credit. The government pushed home lending to those who could not afford it because we all have been indoctrinated to think we need to have debt to get lots of stuff. Bad Banking policies are the opportunistic parasite to a weakened host–people who live beyond their means! All any of us need to do is look in the mirror to see the seed of where the problem started. If any of us has ever had a credit card and paid interest on those cards or any other loans–our own greed is to blame. GREED for what we do not have the means to pay for and then DEBT as the symptom of all of our own greed!

  • What struck me the most what the way she spoke to her Christian audience; aso slowly and condescendingly as if she were speaking to a preschool class. Just because she has a “phd” she thinks she has the corner on intelligence. She truly has NO Clue about real everyday people let alone about what true Christianity is–Loving thy neighbor as thyself. She must not have heard that the largest groups who were there the fastest and with the most help after Katrina hit were CHRISTIAN. The same goes for Haiti and for Thialand. Of course, true Christians just do what is right for their fellow man no matter what color or creed they are. We don’t need to splash our names everywhere for a public pat on the back as the left does. I believe there will be good that comes from her being exposed on the Messiah Campus for who she is and what she actually thinks.
