  • Definition of faith – “belief in the absence of evidence”.

  • Aint free speech grand? Hand this bone head a microphone and he hangs his stupidity right out there for everyone to appreciate. He wears those sunglasses so people looking him in the eye don’t see the back of his skull.

Memo to Shazzam: No one can make you something that you are not.

  • Hey, this story is a few days early. It was supposed to run on April 1st, right?

  • Force = Mass * Acceleration (as in 1 Newton = 1KG accelerated at 1M/sec squared)
You are confusing Acceleration with velocity
For kinetic energy based on mass and velocity use E=1/2 M*Velocity squared
My guess would be that their numbers are within reason.

  • @ Wolf
You must know local and state laws before using a firearm to thwart a perceived crime. Many states/localities do not permit citizens to intervene with deadly force. For example, here in the People’s Republik of New Jersey citizens are obliged to retreat until there is no more escape available before they consider deadly force. You can‘t simply dispatch a burglar just because they’re in your house. And you damned sure can’t fire your gun (ANY discharge of a firearm is illegal in my township) just because you wanted to impress an imagined burglar exiting a neighbor’s house. I feel for this fella but he made a couple of real big mistakes here. I hope sane heads prevail but I’d be willing to bet that his firearm owning days are behind him now.

Is any of this right? He!! no, but it is reality. Instead of tilting against windmills we need to work to change the damage the lib/progs have done over the last 60 years. Know your local laws!

  • It is so inconvenient when these young people are taught to think for themselves! Why, they might not fall in line with the rest of the freedom loving, uber liberal ROBOTS and then where would Sweden be? No, no we just can’t have that in a modern, well educated country. “Step lively now, get into line everyone, the train to your re-education camps will be leaving soon.”

Doesn’t anyone see what is happening here? Are they all blind, have they read no recent history? Oh, that’s right, they all went to state schools, didn’t they. If I weren‘t a coldly calculating sort I’d be tempted to call it a conspiracy, but where would that get me?

  • All you second amendment types (I count myself among your worthy number, btw) kindly reflect on the treatment of New Orleans’ legitimate firearms owners shortly after Katrina submerged that lovely metropolis. The swish of a pen on paper, a declaration of ‘emergency’, and all those constitutional protections vaporized in an instant. Guns confiscated, law abiding home owners protecting their property arrested (or worse), citizens murdered by police, all in the name of civil order. It has happened before and can happen again. Plan accordingly…

  • @JROOK
Memo to jrook: there is no such thing as enough! They will spend some percentage more than they take in without regard to the actual amount. 100% compliance with tax law just means that the wh0res will spend more.

  • @ Get Off Your Butt

This is the peoples republik of new jersey-no concealed carry permits are issued here. None! Unless, of course, you know somebody but people who know somebody don’t hang in chicken restaurants in paterson. And our jolly law enforcement officers have absolutely no sense of humor when it comes to gun law violations-lock ‘em up, search their car and home, confiscate their weapons then ask questions. Only criminals carry here.

  • I’m sorry to be so blunt but in this context, ‘I have nothing to hide so this doesn’t bother me….’ is perhaps the dumbest thing to be said. It is short sighted and very, very dangerous to think this way.

It is within the lifetimes of our parents or maybe grandparents that governments deported people from their homelands and murdered them in great bleeding batches simply because of their ethnicity. People have been tortured, jailed and killed for nothing more than words they had once written in a newspaper, journal or diary. Today‘s freedom of speech is no more secure than Congress’ willingness to defend it and people’s lives depend on the definition of “sedition”. So a quick shift in the popular view of what is or is not seditious speech and a casual, off-hand email that you sent to your old college roommate last year combined with a speeding stop and, voila, you are a treasonous, potentially dangerous criminal who needs to be held for further interrogation.

It is a shorter journey than most folks realize from freedom to servitude and these court decisions are just another step along the way. Once lost, liberty is never recovered without great upheaval. The camel’s nose is already under the tent, can we still get him out without having to kill him?
