  • My list of reasons why I’ll never send my kids to public school is getting a little unmanageable at this point.

I know I shouldn’t be surprised by these stories anymore, but it’s hard to fathom that teachers can get away with this kind of egregious behavior. And on our dime!

Good for those students who stood up for themselves. If you have to be subjected to public school, you might as well have a fighting spirit to deal with the crap thrown at you.

  • I remember the good old days when you turned to the History channel and could almost be assured something about Hitler would be on.

  • I don’t buy the security risk rhetoric. You can report on stories of the Obama kids going on vacation with their parents, but not if they’re on their own? What’s the difference? You’re still reporting on their whereabouts. And it’s not as if, with 25 secret service agents on her at all times, she’s in any more danger in Mexico alone than if a parent went with her.

My suspicion is they’re using Malia as a pawn – sending her to Mexico on a “vacation” when really it’s just a way to appease the government there. With the illegal immigration issues, drug problems and declaring that Americans shouldn’t travel there, I’m sure Obama was just itching to try to “make things right.” By using his daughter as a pawn. Stay classy.

I’d bet good money this trip comes up in the election. In states with large hispanic populations.

  • Unfortunately we don’t live in the kind of society where a kind gentleman can offer girls in need a ride. I think it was kind of him to offer, but he probably should have asked if they wanted to use his phone to call a parent or something else that didn’t involve asking the girls into their car.

Having said that though, I fail to see how he did anything even remotely illegal, unless there’s more to the story no one is saying. He offered the girls a ride, they declined, he moved on. As far as we know he didn’t harass them in any way. He wasn’t disturbing anyone. There is absolutely no proof that he did anything wrong. The police did the right thing by investigating, but should have dropped it once they realized what the situation was.

It‘s already bad enough that you’re considered a creep for offering help, but now you’re a criminal too. Insane.

  • One more incident to tuck away in my reasons I’ll never send my kids to public school file. It’s been a while since I was in elementary school, but I recall clearly when a teacher practically force-fed me food I had no interest in. Then took away the pudding cup my mom had sent with me for dessert. This mentally has been around for a while and it’s widespread. It’s time parents take back control of their children. I’m an advocate of home schooling, but realize that might not be an option for everyone. The next best option is private school. If that’s still not an option, get tough with the public schools your kids attend. Don’t take their crap. Raise hell. Make them wish they’d never met you. You owe it to your kids.

  • I worked for a non-profit organization in college that had a ban on not only perfume, but ANYTHING that was scented. I was reprimanded for having lotion on my desk. I’d taken it out of my purse when I was looking for something and forgot to put it back. I hadn’t even used it. The best part was, half the people in the office smoked and constantly smelled like stale cigarettes. But you couldn’t put on scented lotion. Oh no sir. That might offend someone’s senses.

  • For anyone defending this song with the argument that they’re also singing a Christian song – you should take a few minutes to look up the lyrics of each. Prayer of the Children mentions Jesus a mere three times. The song was written by a missionary living in Serbia when civil war broke out in the early 70′s. It’s not a song of worship. It’s more like a song of desperation, after seeing the death and destruction of the war. Zikr, however, is nothing but a song of worship. It’s verse after verse of praise and worship for Allah. And that’s okay. Muslims have a right to to sing and worship. But is it appropriate for a public high school choir? Certainly not.

  • It’s pretty awesome that this fool was able to graduate from high school not even able to speak english. Yet, I was forced into taking 3 years of Spanish because it was a skill they thought necessary if I planned to move onto higher education. Maybe they knew one day I’d need to know the language so I could understand politicians.

  • Even though I don’t agree with the guy, he’s entitled to his opinion. But he should have simply politely declined to attend the ceremony at all, respectfully citing his reasons. Instead he made a spectacle of himself and the whole affair. But I guess that’s what you get from union crybabies.

  • In what twisted version of reality do these idiots actually think it’s okay to monitor a person “in case” they commit a crime? That would be like police officers following people around for no reason, just to see if maybe they’d do something illegal. It’s insanity.
