  I live several miles from this library. It is run by a cabal of liberal activists who have taken this opportunity to attack the Conservative government and the country’s Conservative Prime Minister. It is unfortunate that this publicly funded institution has chosen to make such an obvious political statement. Rest assured that a portrait of late Jack Layton, former leader of the uber-liberal New Democratic party, dressed as a clown selling used cars would be protested vigorously and never see the light of day.

  Did anyone notice that SNL left the political stuff on the shelf for this episode and it was pretty darned good for a change? Their political stuff is so heavy handed that it destroys any humour that might have been possible. But, as seen in this weeks season ender, once they leave their political beliefs out of the show it becomes pretty funny.

  Hey baddoggy you had better check your facts. It was Canada who first backed you in Afghanistan and is still there with you today. It was the Royal Canadian Navy that protected your merchant marine across the Atlantic during WW II. It was Canada that threw you out of this country and burned your White House. It was Canadian troops who were first on the ground in the gulf states after Katrina ( beating even your own). So watch your step or we will have every retired Canadian living in Florida head out to clog the interstates and bring America to her economic knees! This was just a video of a bunch of Canadian kids playing a game. If you want to have your lunch handed to you come on up and try to cut in line at Tim Hortons, you pant-load.

  That is very true. But calling all Republican’s stupid, or cowboys, or racists ( add the usual adjectives here) is like a kid in the school-yard calling another a “poo-poo head”. Not terribly clever, except to members of the grade four brain trust. I guess calling people stupid is regarded as being hysterically funny in liberalville.

  It was very amusing for the first minute or so but, like all SNL skits it went too long.The impersonation of Biden, as always, was spot on. But the ‘stupid Bush’ routine is getting kind of old. When they ran out of material they fell back on the old, tired “Republicans are stupid cowboys” routine which has them rolling in the aisles at the DNC if nowhere else. If the writers could get beyond their contempt for anything conservative, they could write some really funny stuff. But it Bill Maher can’t, I guess there is no reason to expect SNL to strive fro anything better.
