  • It sounds like “I buried Paul” if you play it backwards. ;+P

These libs will stop at nothing to promote what they WANT something to be. They might as well rehire Dan (Id Rather Not). He fits right in with this bunch!

  • Sbenard I could not disagree with you more. You stated “Once we try to change the Church to please a mass audience, we have now entered the Devil’s lair;”. Well, I agree if you are talking changing the message of salvation. But I would rather worship in a church that had RAP Christian music (Which I hate) and has a message of the grace of Christs Blood being the only means to salvation than a nice respectful service of old time music and a watered down message. Paul stated “I become all thing to all men so that a few may be saved”. I would suspect in your legalistic version of worship many of you would consider that blasphemous. What Paul was speaking about was his desire to speak the pure truth of Gods message in the language of the current culture. There is nothing wrong with either version of music if they bring the listeners to the throne of grace. I play in a Praise band and would not attend our traditional service unless I could not make the modern one. Not because of the music alone but due to the way it gets me prepared to hear the message. In a traditional service I am half asleep by the time the pastor is ready. Conversely, in our contemporary service, I am jazzed to the max to hear the Bible preached when the pastor comes forth. And I am 55 so it is not just an age thing. For those so convinced that only a certain music is acceptable to the Lord I suggest you look at yourselves and the legalism you espouse. Organ was once considered of the devil you

  • Bruciebanner, you ask a legitimate question when you ask “is it appropriate to sell items that reflect your position and beliefs) . That is a lose translation but it is close and I have an answer.

When you present yourself as an INDEPENDENT professional news source it certainly is! I would not have a problem with the Huffington post blog site selling all the socialist paraphernalia they wanted to. However for CBS , NBC, FOX, CSpan or any other “so called” news broadcast to do so should strip them of the last vestiges of the lie of their independence left, even for liberals. However, we all know liberal standards fluctuate based on whose goose you are cooking or gilding.

The biggest threat to our way of life is the complete loss of independent news. Todays news is little more than cheerleaders for the cause and politicians they champion and we have politically ignorant populace thanks to that bias.

  • Obama is “LEFT” wherever he goes! I can not think of a politically influential person, not considered a dictator ON his left in anyway. He is “left” in that regard all by his lonesome.

  • This is NOT a gaff. It is how the man feels and thinks. The only gaff is in the revealing of how he feels and Im not so sure that is a gaff. This is a man hellbent on changing the inequities in this country, according to him. He follows a belief in “collective salvation” as preached by rev Wright which is closer to Stalinist than Christianity. The group is what counts not a personal relationship with a God as you wish to worship. Therefore what is surprising in him switching the two quotes on our money? It is, should be, expected of this man!

  • How many gaffs are we going to have to endure before the people of this country realize these are not gaffs at all. This is how the man thinks! His theology of Reverend Wright is collective salvation. It is a liberal bastardization of Christianity that focuses on the group not the individual. Socialism pretends to have the same standards and thats why it appeals to men like Wright and this president. However, they never learn or care to learn that the truth is that socialism destroys hope along with individualism, responsibility and independence and it leaves you with a two caste system of two groups. The elite leadership and those governed by the tyranny that follows.

  • There are MANY reasons this is bad. As you said, we dont need any more Rhinos, what we need are conservatives. However, I feel there are principals that are being broken as well that good honest conservatives should run away from.

When people vote they do so for many reasons. Whether we agree with them on their reasoning is immaterial, their vote is their right and decision alone. One reason people vote is to remove or obtain control to one party or the other over congress’s and senates for national , state and even local governments. To take their vote and then switch parties after that vote disenfranchises their very reason to vote in the first place.

If a politician wants to switch parties fine, resign and run under that party next election. At least as far as control is concerned this should be illegal. I hated this when Jumpin Jim did it and as a conservative I have principles, if its wrong for one party it is wrong for all. These politicians can vote anyway they want with either caucus but allowing control t be manipulated like this just begs for more graft and corruption. Makes you wonder if promises are being made to the “jumpers” hmmm? Stick with convictions people, not just what serves you in one case.

  • This is wrong! It was wrong when Jumpin Jim did it , and its wrong now! We may not always agree with the reasoning a person votes a certain way but they have their reasons. Some vote for a candidate in order for a certain party to retain, lose, or gain control of a senate, or house in national, state and local elections. Taking that reason away by switching parties disenfranchises that vote. If you want to switch parties, fine, resign and run under a different party next election. Until then, at least as far as control is concerned, party affiliation should remain with you for the duration of your term.

  • This is terrible and should be illegal. I did not like it when Jumpin Jim did it and I don’t like it now! Whether you agree with the reasoning or not, some voters who feel they really don’t like either candidate, vote based on political party in order to change control of a congress or senate in national, state and even local elections. To allow a candidate to change party after being elected under another party is a form of disenfranchisement in my opinion.

If they want to change party fine……resign and run under a new party next election. Until then party affiliation should stay with what you were elected under, at least as far as congressional control and the like.
