  I worked for a very large metro police dept for 7 years in the late 80‘s early 90’s….there is no excuse for the condition that man was in…they will be punished. There is no way on earth that kind of injury can be substantiated. 6 PO’s with tasers….not even if the guy weighed 250 and was on acid. I can tell you though in my new career as a nurse I have handled mentally ill people that are in an uncontollable state and they are unbelievably strong. I can see where it would take multiple PO’s to subdue this guy, but he should have had “cuts and bruises” not a major brain injury as evidenced by his intubation. Also for those finding fault with his family for not “helping him”…Folks, people with this type of disorder especially if it is severe and unable to be controlled by meds, these people will not accept help and in their world controlled by their impaired brain, they are living just fine….I guarantee you this family kept up with him as best they could, doing what he would accept. This person would never be able to function in a “normal ” household…They did the best they could and unfortunately, this is a usually how these people end up, dead by violence of some kind….My prayers are with his family, for at last they know he is at peace, the only peace a person like him would ever have…..the PO’s will answer for what they have done, one way or another…..
