  Funny, yet again it is the leftist that has to bring race into everything. Race has nothing to do with it. The federal government has NO business telling, encouraging, or even suggesting what people do in their private lives. Not what kind of light bulb they use. Not what kind of car they drive. Not what kind of food they eat.

  That YOU need to be coddled to the point of having the federal government tell you what to eat doesn’t mean the rest of us do.

  Mo, yes, I AM sure the Marines are in charge of the ad. The Marine Corps has used an ad agency for years to make commercials. The ad agency films it and puts it together, but the Marine Corps Recruiting Command in Quantico, Va has final say on whether or not it gets on t.v.

  1) Their job, according to Congressional mandate is;

  1. Provide Fleet Marine Force with combined arms and supporting air components for service with the United States Fleet in the seizure or defense of advanced naval bases and for the conduct of such land operations as may be essential to the execution of naval campaign.

  2. Provide detachments and organizations for service on armed vessels of the Navy and security detachments for the protection of naval property at naval Stations and bases.

  3. Develop, in coordination with the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the doctrine, tactics, techniques, and equipment employed by landing forces in amphibious operations.

  4. Provide Marine forces for airborne operations, in coordination with the Army, Navy, and Air Force, according to the doctrine established by the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

  5. Develop, in coordination with the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the doctrine, procedures, and equipment for airborne operations.

  6. Expand peacetime components to meet wartime needs according to the joint mobilization plans.

  7. Perform such other duties as the President may direct.

  2) Apparently you didn’t watch the commercial. I saw plenty of different Marines. But being a Marine, the only color of Marines I saw was green.

  By the way Blaze, what the h*ll is so “chilling” about this commercial? Showing Marines carrying out training exercises is chilling? Or is it the really scarey looking guns? The fanaticism that Marines display when carrying out their duty?

  Are you really so coddled that a recruiting commercial is “chilling”?

  Having spent some of the best years of my life in the Marine Corps, I can say the only thing “chilling” I saw about this recruiting commercial were the “aid” boxes. The Marine Corps exists for no other reason than to destroy the enemies of this nation. It’s not the friggen Peace Corps, so stop trying to turn it into that.

  A subsidy is something government gives to a company that couldn‘t otherwise make it on it’s own. It is the taking of money from a successful company and giving it to a company that is a failure.

  The notion that government subsidizes oil companies is a myth that has been carefully cultivated over the years until people take it at face value. The government takes money from the oil companies in taxes and fees and then gives them back a small portion. That small portion is not a subsidy. It’s what the company would have had anyway before government confiscation.

  I work twelve hours a day at frack sites. And you know what? I love every second of it. Glad to see there is a possibility of a movie being made to correct the nonsense in Gasland.
