  Interesting to see the number of posts in support of the Catholic moral position on “life.” The articulation of Church teaching is one thing, but the church is made up of vast numbers of “catholics” who have ignored the teaching since the early 60s. The majority of catholics are C&E (Christmas and Easter) and practice contraception – artificially. The teaching Church calls for natural family planning – i.e., Billings method – but most catholic’s use condoms and the pill. Take a look at demographics and lifestyle.
  The Church will simply have to get out of providing public services and thus will have to return to its roots. That will exclude “paid” employees. Now, can we expect see an increase of vocations? Will more and more young women choose celibacy and join religious orders to serve life? Doubt it! Will more and more young men choose celibacy to serve God’s people? Doubt it.
  Again, look at demographics since the early 60s.
