  Amen, Brother! I am always amused by the use of “union” in these comments, as though the relationship is mutual an consenting. The relation of the South to the North’s union is as the relation of the rape victim to the rapist. they may be united, but it can hardly be called a union.

  I salute you Byron for being a critical thinker and finding your true history, and not simply digesting the revisionist garbage served up as history in our school systems. You are black and I am white, just as you are a South Carolinian and I am a Texan, but I call you my brother!

  For those interested search 37th Tx Cavalry one of the first integrated American army units (C.S.A.) with both Blacks and Hispanics (with non-white officers). Or the first commissioned woman officer in an American army (Captain Sally Tompkins C.S.A.). What you never learned of these? There is much more to find if you desire truth.
