  • None of you realize that immediately after the WBTS, the Union and Loyalty Leagues killed as many or more blacks and whites from 1865 until 1871 – as the KKK have killed in the 145 years since.

Had it not been for governmentally protected groups like the Union and Loyal Leagues – there would have never been a 1stKKK. We’re seeing a repeat, as the favored trespassers went unrecorded by history with the exception of local press – so it is happening again now with the NBPP.

Ironicly, the KKK was resurrected ( the original KKK disbanded in 1871) by the Progressives (both Republican and Democrat) in the 1890′s and used exactly like the Union/Loyal Leagues. Alot of you would be disappointed to find out that by 1928, northern membership in the KKK was double that of the south. Ever seen the picture of KKK‘s big march on Washington in ’28? No “Rebel” flags in those pictures.

Here’s the moral of the story, anytime a Radical shift to the left is required – the Government employs its favored thugs to usher in that change. Union League, 2nd KKK, now the NBPP and OWS. They are all of the same cut – and are stupid enough not to realize that in every case, the gov tossed them aside when the agenda was completed.

    They are all idiots.

  • ” I am taking the unpopular stance, which is not new for me. I’m saying that separation is the best and only solution! ”

“… I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever”

Its hard to tell the difference between Shabazz and George Wallace. It would appear they are on the same page.

Its not a far stretch of the imagination, that if the NBPP is meeting and allying with Ahmadinajad presently, that Shabazz and Wallace would have been campaigning together 50 years ago.

  • National Reconstruction at its best.

They’ll keep poking, prodding, agging up trouble – when they finally do hang a whitey, they’ll be forgiven and unrepentant. When the citizens strike back, or rightfully defend themselves, due to obvious absence of justice: you’ll see the nation plunged into martial law.

    That’s the whole goal here.

This has all been done before, enjoy the encore – you’re watching history repeat itself to perfection.

  • Since this is a Mormon topic, lets quote Brigham Young – Lincoln’s contemporary Mormon.

“I do now, and always have, supported the Constitution, but I am not in league with cursed scoundrels as Abe Lincoln and his minions who have sought our destruction from the beginning.” (Journal History, 1861-1862, December 10, 1861; E. B. Long, The Saints and the Union: Utah Territory During the Civil War, Champaign, Illinois: University of Illinois Press, 1981, p. 50)

Brigham Young‘s thoughts on Lincoln’s Deity in 1861?
“Lincoln was no friend to Christ, particularly, he had never raised his voice in our favor when he was aware that we were being persecuted” (Brigham Young Office Journal, March 15, 1861)

This was in concert with Young’s opinion that Lincoln had been complicit if not active in the death of Joseph Smith. (Brigham Young Office Journal, August 13-21, 1861)

I find it utterly amazing that modern Mormons have Deified Lincoln. Period evidence by the primary witnesses of the Mormon faith – Brigham Young himself! – prove otherwise. Those are small samplings, you won’t find a kind word from Young regarding Lincoln. Neither will you find the reciprocal.

Lincoln set out to destroy Mormonism, if not for the War Between the States – he would have. John Taylor states, “If there is a cessation of open hostilities against us, it is not for want of a disposition, but owing to the peculiar situatiion”, (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 9, p. 233).

  • Drako,

Actually, Cuba and the northern states of Mexico petitioned the Confederate States to join the CSA. It was not allowed due to them being internationally recognized as foreign sovereigns, and thus their ports were not blockaded by the US. Cuba and Mexico both were the only points of import into the CSA. Had they actuallly been allowed to join, as they wished, they would have been blockaded. If not by the US, certainly by Spain (who would have liked to re-conquer Mexico).

Had the CSA won, Cuba and northern states of Mexico would have been the first new states admitted to the CSA.

  • I completely agree.

What is most disconcerting to me is the evident attemtp to “mainstream” Mormon theology via Beck’s celebrity. This “mainstreaming” is at the expense of explicit Mormon thought, and is canned to appear something that it is not. This is both a dis-service to Mormons and Christians alike. This is not “bringing us together”, it is deceptive at best – destructive at worst.

Deceptive because it waters down Mormon theology to appeal to a wider audience who is not fully informed by what is presented. This will lead to Mormon converts who will not accept the full body of Mormon belief and leave later, which is destructive to their cause. This will also lead to Christians who will react negatively if discovered they have been co-opted into a movement that violates their own belief – again destructive to all causes associated.

There is no utopia where we all believe in full agreement upon all things. At best, we can preserve liberty and allow free example to be our guide: be that our petitions to God, our personal lives, or how we combine the two. Full and honest disclosure is vital to that liberty. Anything less calls into question even the very truths that may be of wider application.

I’m afraid Glenn is sliding into that category of “anything less calls into question….”.

  • Tim Ballard is most certainly a Mormon/LDS apologist, who has written extensively on Mormon/LDS “proof” of the Book of Mormon’s legitimacy.

I’ve been moderated all day on this thread for including links to his commentaries, other LDS apologetic works, and previous websites regarding this book that connect it to Mormon theology by Ballard himself.

This book is 100% Mormon theology, without exception.

Do your own search on “Tim Ballard mormon biography” and see what you come up with.

While you are at it, search this as well “Michael T Griffith Lincoln”, if you dare explore what the actual early LDS leaders thought of Abraham Lincoln. I’ve posted links all day – and not one post has shown up. Somehow I doubt this one will either.

The truth of history is out there, but you won’t be hearing it from either Glenn Beck or Timothy Ballard. The Agenda is Mormon/LDS theology – in all respects – at the expense of all else. Period.

This perhaps my last straw with anything Beckian. He has no real concern for our nation nor the Consitution beyond what he can co-opt into his religion. Even then, he’d throw the US under the bus to “Restore Israel” in the fashion of his doctrinaire view – in spite of the actual Jews and their own religious identity. I’m sorry his zeal is so misdirected, no matter his religious preference – liberty must be preserved first and foremost – or neither he nor I will be free to practice any religion at all.

  • I grew up during the Dixiecrat conversion, people equate that change with the Civil Rights Act only – but that isn’t wholly true. The “Great Society” was crammed down their throats at the same time. The southern voter bloc has always been conservative majority first – party affiliation second. The arguments I heard around the “craker barrels” of the old country stores at the time were in relation to Welfare, Medicare, and what those programs would do to the Federal budget once fully implemented.

Those old men were right then, they are right now – and if still living would see the culmination of their fiscal fears. Yet, no Republican has changed anything about it either – only furthered it. The same can be said about the current dilemma of Obamacare – all talk but no repeal. The Dixiecrat conversion of the late 60′s separated the fiscally liberal Democrats from the fiscally conservative Democrats – then armed the socially liberal ones with the baseball bat of racism to keep the money-train rolling toward the cliff. This has broken the back of the Democrat party in the South – right on into the present day when Civil Rights for blacks isn’t even a real issue.

If you track southern voting by fiscal conservatism (and performance thereof) you can see plainly where they’ve been – and where they’re going. Social issues have been used to fracture fiscal conservatism into untenable positions, in both parties, to keep the money train rolling.

  • To be historicly accurate, the Radical Republicans of the post WBTS era were equally guilty of Jim Crowe. All one has to do is look at the Reconstructed Constitutions of the Southern States, pleny of segregational constitutional provisions in there. Particularly anti-mecegenation constitutional language. If you care to dig into the whole facts, former Confederates and known Democrats at the time were legislatively disfranchised from voting either on the new Constitutions or in elections of any kind, in many states these people weren’t allowed to vote again until 1871. Former Confederates were banned from elected office at any level of government by the 14h Amendment to the US Constitution, unless pardoned by the US Congress in a 2/3 majority. Therefore, if any former Confederate was involved in Jim Crow at a leadership level, it was at the behest of a Radical Republican US Congress.

Glenn’s famous “gun control’ law that banned blacks from owning firearms, was a Radical Republican law written in 1866 – as the state in question was still under martial law following the war. I am not excusing the Democrats and what they did post-Reconstruction. However, it is more correctly understood as the textbook example of “blowback” for being disfranchised and their state budgets raped by puppet administrations – blacks who were scapegoated by the Republicans – for the purpose of executing their fiscal schemes.

  • Do any of you know the history of “Brook Farm”?

If you did, you’d know how ironicly appropriate this communist police action is.

Please, do a little research on this place, its history, and how it was the source of homegrown US communism and socialist utopian idealism.

    http://www25.uua.org/uuhs/duub/articles/brookfarm.html

That link is just a start – knock yourself out all day long researching Brook Farm from its inception to modernity – and you’ll be better educated on where our nation went wrong and how long its been going in the wrong direction.

No self-respecting capitalist would be leasing anything at Brook Farm, much less forwarding their cause in any shape or form. I feel sorry for this “Farmer”, because he likely has not one clue as to the real history of this place and had previously been convinced of its “noble cause” – which is communism at its core.

Oh, this could have been a good story – If Becket Adams only knew. However, the story goes much deeper – in that the majority of Lincoln’s cabinet were “Brook Farm” board members or supporters (who were actual Fourians and/or Socialists). Those who weren’t immediately connected with the Farm were actual european socialist revolutionaries from the 1848-1850 unpleasantness. Do some research on just who and what Union units trained on Brook Farm at the time of the War Between the States. Communists from here and abroad.

This is the history Glenn Beck will NEVER tell you.
