  Flynt may have won a court case but there‘s a big difference between being able to do something because it’s legal and actually doing the right thing (AKA taking the high ground).

  This is total crap and I’m glad the alumni are putting up a fight. The same thing happened at my alma mater during my first and second years. I attended Miami University (aka Miami of Ohio). When I entered the school we were known as the “Redskins”. Now, that name may sound demeaning but the interesting twist was that the actual Miami Indian Tribe (for which the school and former mascot are named) saw the name “Redskins” as a badge of honor (sidenote: anyone who is of Miami tribe lineage can attend Miami U for free!).

  Midway through the football season my second year, the name was changed to the “RedHawks”. There is no link that I know of between a redhawk and the school’s history. I argued that if a name change was coming, we should have gone the way of William & Mary and been renamed the “Tribe”. Instead, there are a large group of alums, myself included, who will not wear anything that says RedHawks on it. Case in point, my baseball cap – I ripped out the stitching in the back that said RedHawks.

  This PC nonsense has to stop and I’m glad there are pockets of resistance to it!

  I don’t know why I expected different…I guess this just makes it “official”. How can a 3rd generation Lebanese Maronite (the Lebanese Catholic church for those who don’t know), and that would be me, get that this is all wrong, yet American Jews (on the whole) still support the President??? I’m sure Rashid Kalidi “advised” BHO on the stance that he should take.
