  I read years ago that it came from the badges reading Chicago Order of Police. I do, however, remember the phrase “you dirty coppers” from an old movie (Jimmy Cagney, perhaps?) spoken with the mobster accent.

  Brilliant, productive, and skilled workers can’t come here – but we financially support illegals that sneak across the border and sign up for welfare, medicaid, wic, etc. while they refuse to even learn English.

  My guess is that they have one of their own they want to put into that spot – Smith moves out, and their assumption is that they will open something new and keep her old customers. We’ve seem similar actions in our town – owner ends the lease of a long-time and succesful restaurant, and then opens a similar restaurant in the same spot, keeping most of the clientele without needing to market a “new” restaurant. Not nice.
