  • Here is an idea. If this student was able to get some groups to back her up on fighting the banner, why couldn’t other students in the school ask for help from people as well and take this fight all the way to the supreme court if it needs to be.

By the way, I always love how people who don’t believe in God are always referenced as “free thinkers” because it is an obvious jab at those who believe in God. These people actually think that just because you believe in a God that you cannot think freely. Really? I know some amazing scholars here in Utah who are very religious, and could probably outthink these so called “free thinkers.”

  • ChrisGil17 has put a lot of comments on here quoting talking points from the left, which I honestly don’t have a problem with, but I do have a few questions and comments about the points he/she has made.

“Actually the Unemployment rate in December was the lowest since 2004.”

Unemployment is higher now than it was in January 2009 as noted in the graphic. Where are you getting your numbers?

“You say he is to blame for all this unemployment when fact is he inherited a problem that the Republicans caused.”

I think most would agree the country was on a bad track already when Obama took over. However, shouldn’t that have turned around under Obama if his policies are indeed the correct ones? Having a higher unemployment rate now than when Obama took office doesn‘t exactly back up the argument that Obama’s policies are any better than the Republicans.

“He has passed healthcare saving thousands.”

Most people that I talk to tell me that their healthcare rates have gone up since the passing of Obamacare to compensate for the increased coverage required under the new law. I honestly don‘t have any personal experience in this because I don’t have health care insurance.

“Helped our Veterans. Helped women get fair and equal pay.”

Do you have actual sources backing up these two statements? They sound good, but where are the facts? Furthermore, I was unaware that women weren’t getting a fair share or equal pay because they do everywhere I have work

  • Is it impossible for Jay Carney to ever answer with a simple yes or no? His responses always sound so sleazy.

  • It’s really sad that with all the problems in the world, this 16-year-old girl has decided that she is going to keep fighting against God and pushing her belief (or is it non-belief?) onto others. Isn’t there more important things to be worried about than a school displaying a banner that has a (gasp, do I dare say it?) prayer written on it? OH NO! Not a prayer!

People like her offend me, so can she be removed from the school too? I’m sick and tired of atheists who have to be offended by every little thing that mentions God or Heaven.

  • I really don’t see anything wrong with the restoration of these murals (I will never go to the park though because I disagree with what the murals stand for), but I do think that any Federal Money should go to projects like these. The country is in debt enough as it is.

  • The videos only demonstrate one thing to me: unions fail at demonstrating to the rest of us why they are important anymore because you cannot have a legitimate debate with these people. The minute you suggest anything that takes even a small portion of their power away, they refuse to speak rationally with you. The people on the video demonstrate this perfectly. If unions are as great as they claim to be, then it would not be very hard for unions to persuade people to understand and accept their position. Sadly, unions would rather push people over to get their way than explaining to people why they are still relevant.

  • Santa probably would have given a nice bonus to the elves too.

  • So the play is about an occupy movement starting at the north pole? Does that mean nothing really happened in the end other than a bunch of people holding signs, chanting, and blaming others for their problems? Oh well. Guess even people attending a pricey institution can still end up fairly dumb and lack any critical thinking skills. Finally, I can only think of a bunch of devils when I read “We are one.” Maybe they shouldn’t be proudly saying it like that. Just saying.

  • I believe hate crimes against Christians are only going to increase because hatred against Christians is only increasing here in the U.S.

  • I bet this guy and other deaths will be viewed by the OWS people as martyrs of the movement. You will begin to hear people claim that the deaths occur as a result of corporate greed. This will be the logic: Corporate greed = protests to stop corporate greed = deaths at the protests. If the corporations were never greedy in the first place then deaths would have never occurred. The media will run with this logic as well, and once again, simple-minded Americans who lack any sense of critical thinking skills will agree and sympathize with the protestors.
