Mother Upset After Hooters Waitress Invited to Speak at Fla. School
November 20, 2011 at 2:08pm
Yeah, leave it to the St Pete Times to make this a “story”. Figures. The girl’s working an honest job, not taking handouts, and takes time in HER day to talk to school kids about WORKING. What is wrong with this picture? PLENTY. Hooters has done more to help local economies than The Times ever will and all the crybabies in the world like Dominicci’s mother. Bet if you checked with her son he had no problem with it. Helicopter parenting at its finest. GEEZ.

oh well….this is the end of his mining career …loose lips sinks ships.
YEP. He hasn’t done himself any favors, nor has anybody promoting his gig. Good for him, though, if it’s working for him. He’s his own man.

When this guy speaks it comes out sounding like Charlie Brown’s teacher, or any adult on the cartoon. Not to suggest Jones is an adult, of course.
And…BLAZE….quite the verbose headline you got going on this thread….just sayin’.

Obama Admits: Sometimes I Think ‘One Term is Enough’
June 14, 2011 at 9:45am
This kind of statement is not new, yet is very telling on many levels. I personally think he had his a** handed to him psychologically during that transition meeting with GW. The clips of him leaving that day were classic deer in the headlights, and he was frantically thinking of how he was gonna do all (or some) of the fairy tale magic cotton candy things he’d promised to $800 million (+/-) of donors. Throughout his term it’s been hedged statements, and lots and lots of wiggle room, let alone “prevarications”. He knows he has a steep incline this next go round, and will give it the ole college try, but I don’t think he has it in him other than to “preserve his legacy”. And of course his wife’s position on this country is, well, let’s just say “ambivalent”. But the money‘s good and you can’t beat the perks, eh, FLOTUS?

Someone Tell Obama the Good News: The Egyptian People Don’t Want Our Money
June 9, 2011 at 7:37am
While I’m pretty sure I understand the overarching “geopolitical long game”, what I do not understand is how on earth it was decided to just throw darts at Egypt and, gee, I dunno, let’s just “see what happens”. Disrupting an existing dysfunctional, though largely stable and predictable, relationship without any known entity to replace it never seems quite the path to take. It’s like quitting a $100k a year job to wait around whistling dixie for the next one to show up. Let’s ask Israel how their gas supply is coming along in the wake of the whole “democracy in action” activity. No good deed goes unpunished, eh, White House?
Watch Live: Obama Defends Dismal Jobs Numbers, Auto Bailout
June 3, 2011 at 1:25pm
I’d like some of the same things, candidly. I’d also like to win the lottery, teach the world to sing, spot unicorns and see Ronnie Reagan back in the Big Chair. They’re all in the same category to me. Not gonna happen.
Watch Live: Obama Defends Dismal Jobs Numbers, Auto Bailout

Like all of his photo ops, I don’t watch. I, at my discretion, can be lectured to in print just as easily, without the visual condescension. Keeps my BP numbers down a little, but not much.
Besides, I have to do my hair, then watch my grass grow. At least the grass doesn’t obfuscate and spin, spin, spin.

America Is GM Circa 1975: Obama Buddy Fareed Zakaria Bemoans Parochial Americans’ Love of the Founders & Constitution as the Reason We Can’t Learn to Be Better Like Other Countries
June 2, 2011 at 7:56am
What in God’s name could this clown be thinking, or smoking? Better? Better? Let me ask one question: name ANY OTHER country on this planet more than THIS ONE that people from all over the planet RISK THEIR VERY LIVES to get into, legally, or illegally, EVERY SINGLE DAY.
The U.S.A. is not perfect, certainly, but I can assure you that at the (social) pace it’s going, it is, and will continue to be, LESS perfect than it is, was, or was founded to be.
This kind of thinking falls under the “no good deed goes unpunished” category. I, for one, am sick to death of apologizing, and giving away the farm. The backbone of this country is pretty much done having its historically generous nature being chronically, exponentially taken advantage of.
