  • In reading all of your posts, most of which pretty much say the same thing, I suspect you’re not religious at all and are, in fact, one of the atheists wishing to push your agenda on people of faith. It’s a pretty weak argument, but I guess if you say something enough times, you might actually start to believe it.

  • Hey, numnuts. “Congress shall make no law”. Show me this law that the Congress has made respecting the establishment of religion. All I see here is people trying to restrict the free exercise of it. Show me this law, though, please, so I may be as enlightened as you.

  • Listen, moron, you‘re the type of person that is encouraging this type of thing and you’re the moron who will stand around wondering why God is no longer a part of our lives. The only thing I’m seeing government being involved with here now is agreeing to taking God out of our lives. I don’t know who the quote is from, but it says “All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to stand by and do nothing”. Well, it seems to me that you’re one of those men content to stand by and do nothing. I am not.

  • Threetourpatriot, the “Jefferson Bible” is not a bible at all, in fact, it’s not even called “the Jefferson Bible”, the formal title for this book written by Jefferson in his latter years is “The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth”. Using this as some “counterpoint” about Congress and bibles is rather pointless as it does not negate the fact that Congress printed Bibles to be used in public schools, not books Jefferson wrote and they certainly didn’t make any laws based on an offhand remark Jefferson made to the Danbury Baptists concerning “a wall of separation between church and state”.

  • It looks like a bunch of atheists have bombarded the poll on this. 89 percent say that the Air Force is right to remove the bibles? I don’t think so. And I don’t see where these people get that the Air Force is “illegally promoting religion over non-religion”, show me where this is in the Constitution, show me where there is a law that covers this. You can’t, because it doesn’t exist. I am so sick of these people and their evil agenda being pushed on the majority of the American people. If you don’t believe, fine, that’s your problem. With this campaign of theirs, they are essentially doing what they say they have a problem with, and that is pushing their religion on others. And make no mistake, atheism is a religion.

  • @Encinomon or whatever: Ah, “the Establishment Clause”. Where exactly is this “clause”? People talk about this like it’s some legal contract placed in the Constitution somewhere. The First Amendment reads:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging
the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right
of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the
Government for a redress of grievances.
I can never see how people make arguments for things like this high school banner out of the First Amendment. The first five words should shut it down before it gets started. “Congress shall make no laws…” Where exactly is the law that Congress made concerning this banner or any banner in any high school. There’s no laws involved here and especially in this case. No law was made requiring Cranston West students back in the 60′s to paint this mural on the wall. People distort the First Amendment constantly in order to destroy religion, or at the very least, relegate it to the shadows, so that non-believers don’t have to see it.

  • @Publiuspencilman: Yeah, Robert, look it up. Google it and the top search result goes to a site that has a top link to a story praising Bill Maher’s anti-christian rants. That’s reliable research for you, right there. I’d believe that site. NOT

  • @Publiuspencilman: Have you ever actually watched or listened to a Glenn Beck show? I‘ve been watching and listening to him since he was on CNN and I’ve found him to be a perfectly reasonable, respectful person who is truly concerned about the direction in which our country is heading. I suspect you, sir, have absolutely no idea what he stands for and are simply here because Media Matters or HuffPo or Daily Kos told you to come here. Your comments are infantile at best and really don’t contribute much to the conversation, merely liberal talking points and jabs. So sad for you.

  • As for the Muslim threat, it is real and imminent. I would wager, though, that in our politically correct world, we will all realize that the threat is real far too late to do anything about it. Better start brushing up on your Koran.

  • VoteVets is nothing but a ultra left wing political organization funded by the cream of the crop of liberal organizations. Look at their website and you’ll see a list of the “sites we like” and those at the top include Daily Kos and Huff Po. Enough said. I’ll grant them that they do have some veterans that are members, I personally know one, but as for being representative of the mass majority of veterans.
