NYC Islamic Activists Urge Muslims To Keep Terror Concerns From Cops
November 14, 2011 at 10:52am
I can’t fault them here. Unfortunately it happens too often that an innocent person trying to do the right thing by talking to police gets his own words twisted or interpreted to mean something totally different. Sometimes resulting in more trouble than thanks.

I‘m not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not, but indeed we need to worry.
History is full of examples of people raising up “enemies” for idiotic reasons, like skin color, religious beliefs, political beliefs… or for no other reason than to justify their own sins (Salem witch hunts?).
It never ends well and many innocent people die. We cannot tolerate or minimize this type of hatred. We are better than this.

Thudwulf said “Libertarian ideology doen’t have that wide of an appeal, accept that as a fact.”
I’ve always wondered why folks can praise all the other candidates for their conservative ideas, even if they’ve only been talking about them for the last couple years, but they blast Ron Paul for the same ideas. And RP has been talking AND VOTING those same principles for 30 years.
I don’t agree with 100% of the Libertarian views, but when you compare the few things I don’t agree with with the HUGE flaws the other candidates have…. I would welcome a Libertarian president with open arms. At least I can count on him doing what’s right for the country and NOT what right for lobbyists.
Would You Keep Bees in Your Apartment? Maybe You Would With This Artistic Hive

I’m sure they are an expensive piece of plastic, but I would love to have one of these. I don’t fit your description in the least, though. Sorry to disappoint you.
I think my young grand kids would love to watch the bees work and they do like honey.

I agree. President Paul with a ‘true’ conservative Congress/Senate would be fantastic for the country. There will be some rumblings from the “leaches”, but our country will begin the healing process.

@JROOK
I do you hope you read this.
You said “…the politicians who are bought and paid for by the wealthy and the large corporations.”
That‘s what I don’t understand about this OWS movement. They are all fired up and ready to take down the 1% with pitchforks and torches, but they barely say a word about the politicians. They are willing to re-elect any democrat who supports redistribution of wealth. If we elected honorable men to office, we would not have as many problems as we do. It takes TWO to complete a bribery transaction. The one offering the bribe and one accepting it. Actually, the politician is worse because he/she is the one that passes favorable legislation that favors the briber at the expense of the masses. They are the ones that should be imprisoned first.
You said “These are the same wealthy and large corporations that are investing in China and Asia in order to exploit workers there.”
True, many corporations are going over seas, just as they came TO the U.S. in the 1900s. At that time, the U.S. had a better tax structure, sound money and a lot of resources. It was beneficial for them to come here. Not anymore.
You said “Demand creates jobs…”.
To a point. Was there a demand for iPhones 100 years ago? How about Microwaves? Laptop computers? No. And it wasn’t the government that produced those goods. It was private individuals with a dream. And they fully expected to advance their wealth in the process. Is that
Occupy Portland Protester Goes on Obscenity-Filled Rant Against Local TV News Crew: ‘Nazi F**king Americans’

@Jrook
I’ve been trying to give these kids the benefit of the doubt and putting the blame for the hostility on a few extreme individuals. It’s getting harder to do, though.
If you know of video where there is some positive dialog going on in these camps, please provide links.
They seem to be trying to create some type of ideal society within the camps, but from what I see, there is an ever growing gap between the masses and those in control. Give it a little while and there will be revolt within their ranks.
Who‘s watching the 500 grand they’ve got? What is the term limit for those in power? If all they do is wiggle fingers to show approval or disapproval, what happens to those on the outer fringe of the crowd? Do they get represented? Just curious, since there are a few supporters on this site.
