  • The first four commandments establish the authority for the last six. If you eliminate the divinity of God from the Commandments, the last six would become the Six Suggestions. The strength of the last six commandments is based on the fact that all ten were given by the ultimate authority in the universe and beyond.

If you eliminate the absolute, the divine Creator, you destroy the power and the credibility of the last six that tell us how to deal with our fellow man.

  • I will do my part, too. I will restrict my diet to only red meat and the other white meat (pork) so I can sell my carbon credits, too. I would like a little fried chicken every once in a while, but if I have all the bacon wrapped filet mignon I can eat, I can be persuaded to give up even chicken. I will use fiber additives to replace all those fruits and veggies so my elimination system will continue to function.

By the way, where can I sell my carbon credits? Al Gore’s Chicago exchange closed down due to lack of interest a while back.

  • This is ridiculous. Everyone knows the dinosaurs were killed by global warming. And the global warming was caused by the coal-fired volcanos and the tremendous SUVs all the dinos drove. When you think of a 140 foot long Explorers getting 12 gallons per mile, just imagine how much CO2 they generated.

And only idiots would think of blaming that meteor that hit the Yucatan like thousands of nuclear weapons hitting at once. And the resulting wall of fire that destroyed much of life in North America had nothing to do with the extinction. And the resulting dust cloud that caused GLOBAL COOLING had nothing to do with the extinction.

That is a falsehood advanced by those nasty deniers of manmade global warming. The fact that it was accepted years before Al Gore was born just shows the prescience of the deniers.

  • The gentleman from EPA was only expanding on the boss’s comments about coal by extending them to oil. On January 17, 2009, President-elect Obama said that power companies could build coal-fired plants, but that they would go bankrupt because of all the regulations and fines his administration would impose.

Mr. Armendariz just chose poorly in how he extended Obama’s anti-energy policy. If the president-elect could get away with threatening to use the full force of the Federal government to destroy power companies, how was Mr. Armendariz so far out of the mainstream Obama administration’s approach to fossil fuels?

I can hardly believe he was advocating the physical crucifixion of oil company executives as a means to control them. By the same token, I can easily believe that Obama would happily bankrupt power companies by abusing the powers of the Executive Branch. We have seen him misuse the power of the EPA, TSA, Homeland Security, IRS, NLRB, and other departments and agencies. So it requires no stretch of the imagination to assume that Mr. Armendariz was just toeing the line of Obama.

  • If their intent is to pray, let them pray in their cells. If their intent is to assemble to foment violence in the prison or elsewhere, let them pray in their cells.

We must remember that prisoners in Afghanistan desecrated Korans by writing messages in them. When the Korans were later burned, by accident, the riots all over the Islamic world were severe. And the proper disposal method for a desecrated or damaged Koran is to burn it.

If jihadists will intentionally desecrate Korans for political purposes, why should we assume that they would not desecrate their prayer time to further their political purposes? If they will desecrate a Koran by writing in it, why would they refrain from desecrating their prayer time assemblies?

  • Barney was very strong in his support for Obamacare. He is now saying, in retrospect, that pushing Obamacare was a mistake. That does not mean Barney changed his mind. That only means that he thoughtr the firestorm would have burned out by now and would have virtually no political effect. So he now says the political fallout is worse than he expected, and THAT was a mistake.

  • I AM SO CONFUSED!!! For years I have always believed the best way to choose the right stand on an issue was to find out what Barney said and do the opposite. Now I find myself agreeing with him. Is anyone else as confused as I am? I AM SO CONFUSED!!!

  • This has to be the most arrogant, self-centered A**hole ever to run for office, much less, sit in the Oval Office. This man brings back memories of the Soviet elite with their dachas and reserved center lane on the roads of Moscow.

His motto is, “Take from the rich, and give it to me.” But his definition of the rich is anyone with a job. He uses class warfare to divide our nation, and he espouses he is for “the little man.” But he is no more for them than was Nikita Khrushchev or Josef Stalin. He thinks he is above the law and better than ANY other person in the world.

The more he talks, the more deranged he sounds. He has no concept of reality. When you look up “egotist” in the dictionary, you see his portrait.

  • Christ said that He is the way, the truth and the life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. So I guess the FFRF folks are not yet accepting the divinity of Jesus Christ. I respect their right to their beliefs, and pray for their acceptance of Christ as the belovedf Son of God the Father and Creator.

However, they are wrong. God created Man in His image and placed him in a garden to provide for his every physical need. Man withdrew from God by disobeying His one prohibition, described as a fruit in the center of the garden. And Man was sent away to fend for himself through the fruits of his labor.

But God never stopped loving Man and found a way to reconcile Man to Himself. God sent His only Son to live among Man and provide a means for him to reestablish the loving and obedient bond in the original Garden of Eden. All Man had to do was accept the love of God and repent of his sins. Through Jesus Christ, Man could again become Adam and Eve before their sin.

For those that accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, God would extend His love and give them eternal life in one of His many mansions. I can only imagine the glory of God’s Heaven. If He gave us the beauty of this world while we grovel in sin, how fantastically beautiful Heaven must be!

So I pray for the followers of FFRF that they may come to a Christian relationship with the Father they can hardly deny except through intransigence.

All Hail the Power of Jesus’

  • @AMERICAN SOLDIER (SEPARATED), ENCINOM
I will grant you that the First Amendment is intended specifically to protect political speech. And this is political speech at its most crass. But you AS(S) supposedly served under the flag of the zUnited States of America, the one with stars, not a picture of King Barack I. I also served, and it turns my stomach to see how some people feel it is appropriate to denigrate our national symbols.

The flag is just a symbol of the country I love. Using it for political purposes IS protected by the First Amendment. And I assume the person displaying the flag bought it and therefore has property rights. As such, I would never deprive him of his flag. My solution is to drag it through a septic tank overflow, soak it with gasoline, tear it into shreds, and stuff it up his rear end. I get rid of the flag that I find offensive, and he gets to keep his flag. One can hope he doesn’t forget and light a cigarette with the gas soaked flag strips still inserted. WHOOSH!!!!
