  • My boss is an atheist. EVERYONE I work with is an atheist. My room mate is an aetheist. Every girl I ever dated was an atheist. 95% of my real world/Facebook friends are atheists. I am constantly surrounded by an bombared with the atheist viewpoint. None of them know I am not an atheist because I never discuss it with anyone, so I hear what they think without a filter. ALL the atheists I’ve ever known have claimed to have adhere to a higher morality than believers. They ALL claim to be open minded, accepting, non-judgemental, loving etc:. And yet, every single day, wether I want to or not, I hear or see them constantly mocking, degrading and insulting people they disagree with. They talk about rounding up believers and gassing them in camps. They talk about shooting them. They talk about beating up street preachers (they all almost always claim to be believes in free speech) to shut them up. They talk about burning down churches. They claim to be against bigotry, but, they really are the most intolerant bigots I’ve encountered. Every debate they engage in seems to end in threats of violence. The only real discrimination, and very vicious at that, I’ve ever actually seen in the workplace was by an atheist directed at a muslim. I’m constantly repulsed by the behavior of the atheists around me. I’ve come to really dislike most of my “friends”. My question is, why does so much of the atheist identity seem to hinge on proving how much BETTER they are than everyone else?

  • So much of this video looks staged and it doesn’t really show enough. Has anyone validated that what we’re seeing here is real? Almost everyone has cameraphones now, why isn’t there more footage from different angles? Has anyone identified the people in this video and can verify they were actually arrested? I’m not saying this IS all fake, but something about it is very off…It would be brilliant propaganda if it were, certainly everyone I know is enraged about it. I would like to know more.

  • If it was just for fun, why dress it up as some sort of protest? And if it was a protest, why not protest something in particular? You can’t make a statement of you have nothing to say. I pay close attention to what my friends say and for almost all of them this was nothing but an excuse to prove how much
better they are than all those “uptight Mormons.” They are really proud of themselves for how much they suppossedly stuck it the Church, even though they had no specific goals and no particular message. It wasn’t about politics, it wasn’t about fun, it was all about a bunch of self-righteous twerps trying to prive their moral superiority.

  • I live in SLC and a large number of my friends participated in this event. I can honestly say that from everything people were saying, this protest was about NOTHING. There was no particular ideology, no specific laws or groups were mentioned, just this vague idea about “protesting” Utah for “being so uptight”. There were a few semi-political slogans being tossed around, but, the reality is that it was a just a bunch of self-righteous morons reveling in their “cleverness”. The biggest topic of conversation on Facebook seemed to be where to get drunk afterwards. Today it was just an endless stream of self-congratulation and patting each other on the back for the “overwhelming success” of the event. Yeah…they really showed the rest of us!
