  • Glenn, being a former DJ, was no doubt familiar with his song and, while I don’t presume to know this for sure, I think even he would acknowledge the historical significance of this song.

  • Love all the righteous indignation on this thread! “i used to LOVE hockey but stiopped watching because of the violence”…“Millions of us would start watching again if they would tone down the violence”….etc

I highly doubt anyone who objects to the violence in hockey will start watching if they curtailed it (because I doubt they ever watched in the first place). At least Kerstile is honest about it. He doesn‘t like it so he doesn’t watch. Honest and simple solution.

  • So both Mediaite and The Blaze ran with the AP story that has the claim in it that Romney called Newt the “Chief Lobbyist ” of Freddie Mac. Clearly in the video Romney actually says that Newt was HIRED by the Chief Lobbyist for Freddie Mac, not that Newt WAS the Chief Lobbyist. Big difference

I always thought it must be sort of a tough gig to get being a part of a major media/website operation but clearly it can’t be that hard. Maybe if the people writing the initial article or the people reposting an article for their website actually watched the event in which they are reporting about, they would be worth the money they are paid.

  • Thank you!! Reading some of the comments bashing this video make me sick.

  • You suck as a human being. Never seen someone put so much effort into playing down a simple, heartwarming moment. Go kick a kitten

  • Yes, I do have a problem. I cheer for kids who get a chance to enjoy something not otherwise available to them through a debilitation condition. I hereby withdraw my support for the Make-a-wish foundation. Also, I am seeing a therapist who hits me in the face every time I smile when I see a down syndrome kid gets to run a meaningless touchdown at the end of his senior year.

  • You said that these were manufactured feel good moments and that they need to stop. The scenario I am putting to you is “What would you have done had you been at that game?” Would you have clapped and just grumbled under your breath or would you have remained seated in protest? What?

Because you have obviously ruled out being genuinely happy and supportive for the kid. I’m just wondering how you would have expressed your displeasure at such a spectacle. A strongly worded letter to the school board perhaps?

  • True, I sure wish noone had posted the videos of Nazi detention camps or 9/11 videos because I think people were just getting a vicarious high from them. No lessons to be learned. I hope she doesn’t post any videos of him beating his wife with a belt. Nope, wouldn’t be fair to him

  • Too bad you weren’t at the game. You could have held up a sign that says “Hey Trent! Too bad this is a make-believe play. HAHA Dummy!”

I’m sure you would have done it right? I’m also betting you could have held off the crowd with that keyboard of yours.

  • So you would sit in the stands and not clap and sit and grumble about having to watch such a “liberal” spectacle? Or would you actually boo the kid? What is wrong with you?
