Allen West assesses the situation in North Korea -- here's what should and should not happen

President Donald Trump tweeted that the United States nuclear arsenal is "stronger, more powerful than ever before" in response to a reported North Korean nuclear threat. Sources told the Washington Post that the country has managed to make nuclear warheads small enough to fit on an intercontinental ballistic missile.

Former congressman Lt. Colonel Allen West visited "Dana" today and gave an assessment of the situation. He said that China needs to support the sanctions against North Korea put in place by the United Nations and that the U.S. needs to set up a blockade.

He also discussed the importance of American missile defense -- against missile launch platforms that appear to be Chinese in origin. There are many intelligence pieces, he explained, that need to be put together to see which nations are helping North Korea in their quest to be a nuclear power.

West also told Dana Loesch that he'd prefer President Trump no longer "try to do policy by Twitter."
