Glenn: Dallas Cowboys ‘came together’ to be an example for America

What happened?

The Dallas Cowboys football team knelt as one before the traditional national anthem on Monday night, with the players, owner Jerry Jones and coach Jason Garrett all kneeling together. Their conciliatory version of Colin Kaepernick’s protest involved first taking a knee in solidarity with those affected by police violence, then standing and linking arms to pay respect during the national anthem.

President Donald Trump, who fueled tension over the weekend with a series of threatening remarks about players who protest by sitting or kneeling during the anthem, seemed OK with the Dallas Cowboys’ version. He tweeted, ““But while Dallas dropped to its knees as a team, they all stood up for our National Anthem. Big progress being made-we all love our country!”

Glenn’s take:

“They all stood up for what they believed in, they included prayer and they did it respectfully,” Glenn commended the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program.”

In a time when America is suffering from a “dearth of leadership,” political activism that ends without violence and lets people with seemingly opposing viewpoints feel equally respected is a win.
