Lena Dunham felt the need to bash fathers on Father’s Day -- and quickly deleted her tweet
June 20, 2017
Outspoken feminist and actress Lena Dunham received a lot of controversial attention this Father’s Day. After swift backlash, she quickly deleted a tweet that said, “You don’t need a father- so many families work so many ways- but if you have one he better werk.”
Many took offense to Dunham’s tweet, who simultaneously posted an Instagram photo with a loving message for her own father. She later came back to tell her followers that she doesn’t hate men, tweeting, “I love men, I love alternative families and the only thing I hate is people who can’t respect a diversity of family dynamics. Peace.”
