NFL agent says Colin Kaepernick's free agency is not due to his playing ability
March 23, 2017
Lawrence Jones filled in for Dana Loesch on "Dana" and was joined by NFL Sports Agent, Eugene Lee, who discussed the real reason Colin Kaepernick is still a free agent. Jones laid out some of the issues he has with Kaepernick. At the top of his list is that when when he was at the height of his popularity, Kaepernick didn't seem to show much interest in aiding the black community, but now that he's having difficulty being signed by a team, he has a new-found desire to help.
"If you look at it from the outside looking in, I mean that's what it appears like," Lee admitted. "I think the situation right now with Colin is that he's without a job, and I saw an analysis saying that part of it is due to his playing ability, but if you look around the league right now, you see some of these free agent quarterbacks that are being signed with deals, there is absolutely no way that it relates solely to his playing ability."
When Jones asked Lee if he thought it was wrong for this type of treatment to occur, Lee pointed out that NFL teams are private organizations and are responsive to their customers and any potential backlash they might face for signing Kaepernick.
