Other states may want to take note of this mayor's solution to VA problems
May 11, 2017
Colonel Mike Weaver, mayor of Radcliff, Kentucky, is proposing a public/private partnership to help solve Veterans Administration inefficiencies. His town is offering a free piece of land for the VA to build its next hospital.
Weaver wants to donate 50 acres, situated in a pastoral setting that he believes will help patients there to heal.
The VA has purchased 34 acres in Louisville for $13 million, but nothing has been built. That construction was expected to be completed last year, but more recent projections put it at 2022.
