Violent crime victim is empowered after learning to use firearms

Autumn Parkin was violently raped by two men when she was only 15-years-old. Years later, she was attacked in her home after hosting a party. After living through these traumatic events, Parkin couldn't help but feel defeated.

She admits to struggling with alcohol and PTSD until she met her husband. After Parkin received restitution, she made the decision to purchase a firearm and became a proficient shooter. It was then that Parkin felt she truly began to heal. The feeling of weakness was soon replaced with a sense of empowerment. Parkin tells her story on this episode of "For the Record: Infringed."
