NYT reporter: Trump blocks people on Twitter! JUST LIKE IRAN

In Tuesday's WTF MSM!? email, I highlighted how the media's coverage of the ongoing protests against the Iranian regime has been abysmal. It is almost as if the media were siding WITH the regime, against the protesters. That coverage, sprinkled with some Trump Derangement Syndrome, continues in its absurdity.

The New York Times' Maggie Haberman decided the Trump administration's call for the Iranian regime to unblock social media was the right time to attack Trump for "blocking" people on Twitter.

Perhaps Haberman is unaware that a Twitter block does not stop someone from seeing tweets. All the "blocked" person has to do is log out of Twitter, and Trump's tweets magically appear. But seriously, there is no comparison to be made between a brutal dictatorship stopping people from using social media to communicate and being blocked from seeing the president's tweets.

The idiocy is spreading. Here is NYU professor and Time columnist Ian Bremmer:

Another recurrent theme is that by supporting the protesters in Iran, conservatives and Trump are actually hurting them. That's the point The New Republic's Sarah Jones is trying to make here.

It's the same argument that detractors of Ronald Reagan's Soviet Union policy used to make. Those detractors falsely claimed that calling the Soviet Union the "evil empire" would hurt the cause of freedom and dissidents. It did the exact opposite. It breathed life into dissent and ended in the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

The Washington Post's "conservative" blogger Jen Rubin is parroting the Left. She wants the U.S. to pursue an Iran policy with "less bellicosity."

That is exactly the opposite of what is needed.

The Iranian people are protesting their oppressive regime. They are fanning the flames of freedom. The MSM is struggling to come to terms with the most important story of the new year. This isn't about Trump; this is about the universal desire to be free.
