Rashida Tlaib claims 'racist idiots' took her Holocaust comments out of context— but in context, they're even worse

It's not just what she said, but what it was in response to

In this episode of "America with Eric Bolling," Eric sat down with Washington Examiner's Tiana Lowe to discuss Rep. Rashida Tlaib's (D-Mich.) claim that the Palestinians made great sacrifices to provide "a safe haven for Jews" following the Holocaust.

During a Yahoo podcast on Friday, Tlaib said thinking about the Holocaust gives her a "calming feeling" because her Palestinian ancestors "lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people's passports. And, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews."

Tlaib's comments were met with intense backlash, to which she responded by saying her words had been taken out of context by "racist idiots."

On NBC's "Late Night," Tlaib told host Seth Meyers, "You know, I got a text message from a friend who was like, 'Hey next time, you know, really clarify, maybe talk like a fourth grader because maybe the racist idiots would understand you better." She declined to address the historical inaccuracies of her initial claim about the Palestinians treatment of Jews after the Holocaust.

"The most notable thing about these comments isn't just what she [Tlaib] said, but what she said it in response to," Tiana told Eric. "Her discussing getting this calming feeling about this fictitious lie that the Palestinians welcomed Jews, following the Holocaust into Israel — that alone is alarming. But she used that as a response to why she supports the eradication of the state of Israel and a one state solution."
