Whitlock: Joe Biden is taking a ‘mulligan’ on racism

Joe Biden is the modern-day David Bernard Mulligan, the wealthy, country-club elite credited with originating the golf term “mulligan.”

Mulligan hailed from Ontario, Canada. He owned a string of hotels in the northeast, including a piece of New York City’s Biltmore Hotel. He loved golf. One day in the 1920s, Mulligan hit a wayward tee shot on the first hole. To the surprise of the three other players in his foursome, Mulligan instinctively reached down, teed another ball, and hit a second drive. His playing partners questioned his tactic.

“I’m taking a correction shot,” Mulligan explained. He called it a “mulligan.” The justification for and acceptance of his action is disputed. Some say he did it because he arrived late and didn’t have time to properly warm up. Others contend a rough and bumpy ride to the course left him nervous and with shaky hands, and his opponents took pity.

Whatever the story, David Mulligan started the custom of golf do-overs.

Joe Biden is formalizing a custom Democrats have implemented in the last four or five years of racial do-overs. Democrats opposed President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation and Dr. Martin Luther King’s civil rights movement to end Jim Crow Laws.

Now, nearly 60 years after Republicans fought to eradicate racist laws, Democrats are taking a mulligan on racism. Led by Biden, Kamala Harris, and their allies in corporate media and Big Tech, Democrats are pretending 2022 is 1942, the year Biden was born, when numerous state laws reduced black people to second-class citizenship.

Democrats are formally rewriting their own history. They’re the champions of black freedom and equality. Now that the Ku Klux Klan is toothless and impotent and no legitimate threat to the safety and freedom of black people, Biden and Democrats have mustered the courage to fight white supremacy.

Biden is the Democrats’ Great White Hope, beating up stiffs and tomato cans while comparing himself to Muhammad Ali.

Biden knocked out the Proud Boys at Charlottesville. There’s no legitimate proof the Proud Boys are racist. No one has seen them burn a cross, hang a black man, or deny black people access to anything. The Proud Boys are led by a man of color. If they’re the KKK, then I’m Denzel Washington.

Biden beat up Jan. 6 Trump supporters, a gunless group of hooligans who overran the Capitol for three hours. According to leftists, Trump supporters are the embodiment of white supremacy. In a fit of white rage, they stormed the Capitol to kidnap Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, AOC, and Chuck Schumer and overthrow the election. January 6 was a re-enactment of 1965’s “Bloody Sunday” at Selma’s Edmund Pettus Bridge.

Trump supporters disguised batons, dogs, and water hoses as flagpoles, zip ties, and moose heads in a bloodthirsty attempt to stage an insurrection and reinstitute slavery and Jim Crow. Biden and Democrats have courageously jailed and demonized the white savages who pushed and shoved with Capitol Police.

Biden is 79 years old. There was a time when he could have stood courageously against white supremacy. He is the same age as many of the then-college students who joined Martin Luther King’s civil rights movement. Throughout the turbulent 1960s, Biden was an unserious, mediocre student at the University of Delaware and later at Syracuse Law School.

Biden took political office in 1973 at the age of 30. He won a seat in the Senate. At the time, America was implementing desegregation policies. Biden had a chance to be an outspoken champion of educational diversity. Instead, he complained that he didn’t want his kids to go to school in a racial jungle. Biden was not pro-segregation. His “racial jungle” comment has been taken out of context. But Biden was not a leader on race. He was weak, like most Democrats.

He was quite fluid on race, much like his respected friend and peer Robert Byrd, the former KKK member and organizer turned West Virginia senator. After joining the Democratic Party and winning political office in the 1950s, Byrd found his KKK membership unnecessary and a burden. He quit paying dues and lost interest. In the 1990s, Byrd claimed joining the Klan was the biggest mistake of his life.

Who needs the Klan when Democrats concocted a scheme to control, manipulate, and destroy black people through politics?

Who needs blatant, in-your-face racism, when corporate media, social media, and Big Tech can manufacture an endless supply of faux racism? They’ve conspired to create this false world and narrative that black people’s right to vote is dependent on stopping states from requiring identification to vote.

According to freedom fighter Biden, voter IDs are the new Jim Crow. Black people don’t have IDs. According to Biden, 2022 is really no different from 1942. Biden is JFK. Kamala Harris is MLK.

They showed up too late for the real civil rights movement. They’re taking a mulligan. Biden is David Bernard Mulligan. Biden is rich, white, elite, and entitled. His presidency is a correction shot for the Democratic Party.

Democrats are going to be on the right side of racial history this time because their racist allies in Big Tech are writing it.
