Glenn Beck blasts liberal media's 'phony self-righteousness' following criticism of Heisman Trophy winner

USA Today writer Scott Gleeson's "crack reporting" digs up 15-year-old's "homophobic tweets"

On Saturday night, Kyler Murray, the star quarterback for the University of Oklahoma, was awarded the Heisman Trophy and deemed the best college football player in the country. It was a momentous honor and an unforgettable night for the 21-year-old athlete. But by early Sunday morning, Murray was already under fire for "several homophobic tweets" he posted when he was 15 years old, according to USA Today writer Scott Gleeson.

On Monday's episode of "The Glenn Beck Radio Program," Glenn got a little heated over the glaring hypocrisy of the liberal media. "Phony self-righteousness," he declared. "That's why so many Americans can't stand mainstream media, and there was another textbook example of this over the weekend aimed at Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray."

"Gleeson's 'crack reporting' dug deep into Kyler Murray's shady past on Twitter," Glenn continued sardonically. "Yes, Gleeson uncovered the absolutely shocking, completely unheard-of truth that 14-year-old boys say immature things when bantering with their friends. It's almost too appalling to imagine."

Watch the video clip above to catch more of Glenn's angry reaction.
