Mark Levin obliterates Democrats over immigration flip-flop

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are pathological liars

Mark Levin, host of "LevinTV" on BlazeTV.com, joined Sean Hannity, host of "Hannity" on the Fox News Channel Tuesday to share his analysis of President Donald Trump's address from the Oval Office, and to break down the Democrat rebuttal delivered by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

A compelling address from the president

Levin, an American lawyer and constitutional expert, praised President Trump for his "outstanding" address that outlined the humanitarian crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border.

"It was concise, it was compassionate, truly compassionate. He provided the context ... including both expense ... and who is really responsible" Levin said.

Democrat response at a glance

Levin reminded viewers that Pelosi and Schumer have served in Congress for decades and have never cared about the border until Trump stepped in and began to make moves to fix the problem — border security.

"Schumer and Pelosi are pathological liars...they're part of the scam artists who give amnesty, legalization, citizenship and never secure the border." Levin said.

According to Levin, since Trump took office, Schumer and Pelosi have without hesitation spent "billions and trillions" on the redistribution of wealth. Levin said they have racked up debt, perpetuated deficit level spending, and spent $200 billion on illegal aliens. Both, along with fellow Democrats, have gotten away with complete disregard for the U.S. Constitution, but now have reached the end of the road with Trump, who has refused to play their game.

Turning his aim at the heart of the matter, Levin noted that neither Schumer nor Pelosi have ever been held accountable for their flip-flop on immigration. A quick Google search reveals their voting records that reflect support to authorize walls, votes to fund portions of a border wall, and votes to ramp up border security.

Suddenly, Trump takes office and walls become immoral?

"You know what's immoral? Immoral is when people are talking about the government employee being furloughed — eventually getting back pay — rather than the unskilled, low skilled American workers who are forced to compete with people who have come to this country illegally," Levin said with conviction.

He went on to highlight big corporations like Hewlett Packard and Disney, among others, who are in bed with the "Schumer's" and the "Pelosi's" on Capitol Hill, who want cheap labor and discourage the enforcement of U.S. immigration policy.

The Democrats' endgame

Levin, admitting the irony of citing a left-wing publication, pointed to Peter Beinart, a contributor for The Atlantic, who wrote a piece highlighting the pivot Democrats made, shifting away from the U.S. Constitution — on the immigration issue — because the party saw a potential electoral edge to be gained over the Republican Party.

According to Beinart, between 2008 and 2016, The Atlantic projected that if the Latino vote continued on the path it was on at the time, then the GOP would never recover.

Pelosi and Schumer, in the name of "power," embraced the point made by Beinart and threw the Constitution to the wind.

The Takeaway

Levin brought the conversation full circle in a way that only "The Great One" can, explaining that neither Pelosi nor Schumer, since 2008, have mentioned the crime-ridden local schools and communities that have suffered because of the refusal by the federal government to enforce immigration laws that were passed by Congress with an overwhelming majority vote.

"Notice how the never talk about law and order because they hate law enforcement. The never talk about the overwhelming cost of health care or our public schools," Levin added.

Per usual, it is the American taxpayer who suffers at the hands of power-hungry politicians like Pelosi and Schumer, Levin said. They are more concerned about continuing the influx of illegal immigrants whose only purpose is to allow the Democrat Party relevance.

What else?

Levin suggested to Hannity and his viewers that the best resource to observe the lies and the deceit perpetuated within the Democratic Party is to simply read their 2008 platform. The 2008 Democratic Party platform, according to Levin, was in line with Trump's immigration policy.

"The American people haven't changed. The Republican Party hasn't changed. The Democrats for political reasons and power reasons have changed," Levin said.

One more thing

Hannity raised the question of whether it would be legal, under the U.S. Constitution, for the president to exercise his authority to declare a national state of emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border, which would give him the funds to do what he thinks needs to be done.

Levin, with his signature snark, explained that what Hannity was referring to is what is called The National Emergencies Act of 1976, but despite the title, the act is actually a statute and has nothing to do with the president acting constitutionally.

This statute was put in place to allow Congress the ability to reverse actions taken by the president during times of national emergencies, and takes a joint resolution in both the House and the Senate and requires a majority vote to pass.
