War is _____. (If you answered, 'FUNNY' you might be a Morning Joe fan.)

We are five days into a war that is not a war, but certainly looks, sounds, and has a price tag that appears to be just as costly as a war. But it is not a war. At least that is what we are being told, when we are told anything of substance.

Again, this is not a war, this is 'Odyssey Dawn' something that sounds more like a new video game than a noble mission like 'Enduring Freedom' or 'Desert Storm.'

That said, I guess it is ok for the crew at MSNBC's Morning Joe to have a good laugh as NBC's Jim Miklaszewski reports from the Pentagon.

It is easy to see why highly paid media personalities might make light of America stepping into a THIRD war.  After all, our President gave the OK to start launching missiles while he was on a vacation in South America.

And the Vice President was hanging out in Florida with the New York Yankees.

Of course I am aware that the President (and Vice President) travel with mobile offices, able to connect with almost anyone in the world at a moment's notice. It just seems that when you put the men and women of the American military in harm's way by engaging yet another battle, you ought to be at YOUR desk... and not on another vacation.

Acting Presidential and showing the world that we take military action seriously might also send a signal to some in the media that war ain't funny.
