S.E. Cupp: 'Ann Romney Is Lying' About the Romney Camp Looking at Women for VP
July 07, 2012
"They're just not going to go with a woman."
The Blaze's S.E. Cupp said Friday that Ann Romney was "lying" when she said Mitt Romney's campaign is considering choosing a woman to run beside him on the Republican ticket.
"Just to clear up the woman thing, Ann Romney is lying," Cupp told her "The Cycle" co-hosts on MSNBC. "They are not looking at women, they are not going to pick a woman candidate, there's just no way.
Ann Romney stirred speculation this week when she said during an interview with CBS News that her husband has "been looking at" the possibility of choosing a woman to fill the No. 2 spot. Ann Romney made the comments while she and her husband were on their way to meet with New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte, a Romney backer.
On Friday, Cupp was having none of it.
"She's lying, I mean they're not -- she's not lying," she amended. "They're not looking at a woman candidate, they're just not going to go with a woman....it's a good fib."
