United States Marine Corps has reportedly established a first-of-its-kind Law Enforcement Battalion. The specialized force of military police officers are intended to be quickly deploy worldwide to help investigate crimes from terrorism to drug trafficking and train fledgling security forces in allied nations.
The idea of a Marine Corps unit dedicated to Law Enforcement has made some Americans very nervous, especially those prone to repeat that "the United States can't be the policemen of the world." Minnesota Army National Guard Captain Pete Hegseth joined 'Real News' Tuesday to discuss the usefulness of this force:
