Mitt Romney Breaks Post-Election Silence in Fox News Interview: Campaign Was Like a 'Roller Coaster

NEW YORK (TheBlaze/AP) -- Fox News' Chris Wallace has landed the first post-election interview with defeated Republican nominee Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann.

Wallace said on "Fox News Sunday" that the interview will air on his show next week at 2 p.m. ET and then again at 6 p.m. ET on the Fox News Channel. Additional portions will be on Fox News Channel the next day. Wallace says he'll ask Romney how he has dealt with the defeat, what he plans to do and his thoughts about President Barack Obama's second-term agenda.

"It's an adjustment," Ann Romney said about postelection life in the yet-to-be-aired interview. "But it's one that I think we did well."

Mitt Romney referred to his failed presidential campaign as a "roller coaster."

"We were on a roller coaster, exciting and thrilling ups and downs. But the ride ends. And then you get off and it's not like, 'Oh, can't we be on a roller coaster for the rest of our lives?' It's like, no, that ride's over."

Fox News spokeswoman Ashley Nerz says the interview will be taped this week in southern California, where Romney has spent much of his time since the election.

Romney has also said he will speak March 15 to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, an annual event that draws leading Republican voices.
