WSB reported a woman in the office at Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Academy in Decatur called the newsroom to report a shooter in the school, and said the gunman had asked her to call WSB and the police. Shots were heard over the phone, WSB reported.
Students were evacuated and escorted onto the field, and school buses were transporting them to a nearby Wal-Mart for parents to pick them up.
