Marching Band Spells 'Trayvon' During College Football Halftime Show

"It appears Americans can't even go to a college football game anymore without having politics shoved down their throats."

The Alabama State University marching band spelled out "Trayvon" on the field during halftime against Jackson State in Mississippi Saturday night.

Duer Sharp, commissioner of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, was one of the spectators to tweet a photo of the tribute, AL.com reported.

A Florida jury in July acquitted George Zimmerman of second-degree murder in the 2012 shooting death of Martin, 17.

Conservative website NewsBusters took note of the display and observed: "It appears Americans can't even go to a college football game anymore without having politics shoved down their throats."
