House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) pushed back on the Drudge Report website for a headline over the weekend suggesting Republicans had expanded Obamacare.

The Drudge headline linked to an Associated Press story that said Republicans had made a change in the law that will eliminate “a cap on deductibles for small group policies offered inside the law's health care exchanges as well as outside."
But rather than expand the unpopular law, the latest change will “chip away another piece" of President Barack Obama’s signature domestic policy, Boehner’s office countered Sunday.
"Successfully repealing this Obamacare provision is just one part of Republicans' larger effort to repeal the full law and replace it with better solutions focused on lowering health care costs for families and small businesses," Kevin Smith, Boehner's communications director, wrote in blog post on the speaker's website.
The Associated Press, however, painted a slightly different picture, reporting that, "Democrats describe the change involving small-business coverage options as a straightforward improvement of the type they are eager to make, and Obama signed it into law."
Smith maintained that the change does nothing to grow the law and instead paves the way for it to be replaced with something better.
“Repealing this provision will give employers more flexibility over the type of health care options they can offer their employees, and will expand the use of high-deductible plans paired with health savings accounts,” he wrote.
