See the Tweet From a Democratic Official About Raising the Minimum Wage That Had People Mocking Her
May 20, 2014
"Imagine."
Donna Brazile, the Vice Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, was roundly mocked on Monday after she tweeted her support for an increase to the federal minimum wage by invoking the ultra-schmaltzy lyrics to John Lennon’s “Imagine.”
"Imagine no possessions. I wonder if you can. No need for greed or hunger. Imagine all the ppl sharing the world." John Lennon #RaiseTheWage

Not too long after referencing lyrics inspired by Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono, conservatives on Twitter pounced, noting the obvious questions raised by the unfortunate song.
@donnabrazile So, it would ideal if the already poor gave up what few possessions they have? Why would they want/need more money?

@bhweingarten @instapundit @donnabrazile hey dude, all that private property stuff is so two years ago!

@donnabrazile Give me your possessions. Actually, let's just swap.

@donnabrazile if everyone is sharing, then no one needs a raise in the wage. You can start, please share some of your money with me now.

@donnabrazile Obama's personal wealth has gone up 438 percent since he took office. Do you realize what a clown you are?

.@donnabrazile OK, you go first; and, how's that $$ stuff working out for you, Donna? #communism #fantasy #socialism #hypocritical

@donnabrazile Please explain what benefit a higher wage would provide in a world with no possessions.
