TheBlaze's senior Washington correspondent Sara Carter said Tuesday that there are rumors circulating in Central America that the United States "is taking people in, particularly people with children," and that the rumors are likely related to the recent spike in illegal immigrants crossing America's southern border.
Carter said news networks are airing the claim, but that the word-of-mouth transmittal of the message has become a "movement by fire."

Carter was speaking with Glenn Beck about what President Obama has labeled an "urgent humanitarian situation" on America's southern border, where 47,000 children have been apprehended in the past eight months alone. The number marks a nearly 10-fold increase since 2011, according to the Associated Press.
"I spoke just moments ago to the border patrol union representative Derek Hernandez," Carter remarked. "And what ... he's seeing and what he's hearing from the folks inside the detention facilities is that there's this rapid talk throughout Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico about how the U.S. administration is not deporting anyone, and particularly people with children."
Glenn Beck on Monday asserted that the White House is "directly responsible" for the recent spike in illegal immigrants, particularly children, coming over the border.
He told Carter that it is her time to become "one of the most important reporters" in the country by getting to the bottom of the story.
"If you want to be a whistleblower, you contact this woman," Beck told his audience. "She is absolutely fearless, and this network will run the truth."
He told whistleblowers to reach out to the email address email@example.com.
