The bus traveling from Los Angeles to Pasco, Washington, crashed Sunday morning about 100 miles south of the Oregon border, California Highway Patrol Officer Jeff Borgen said. It had hit a Denny's restaurant in Red Bluff earlier in the morning, but no one was hurt in that crash.
A 33-year-old man was killed, Borgen told the Redding Record-Searchlight. Three people were in critical condition and three were in serious condition, hospital officials told the Sacramento Bee.

Twenty-six other passengers were treated at hospitals for minor injuries. Most had been released.
Early indications show driver fatigue may be to blame for the crashes, investigators said.
