“When I walked outside and saw it, it was crazy."

An 82-year-old woman who swerved and crashed off the road over the weekend is lucky to still be alive, and when you see her car, you'll know why.

The woman, who was not identified, hit two metal street signs near a gas station in Braintree, Massachusetts, which is south of Boston. One of these signs went through her windshield, missing the driver's side and going right through to the passenger's seat where no one was sitting.

"As you can see a metal sign impaled the vehicles [sic] windshield coming close to the driver. Thankfully no was was seriously injured," the Braintree Police Department wrote on Facebook with photos from the Braintree Fire Department.

“When I walked outside and saw it, it was crazy how close it was to her face,” Kiley Keller, who witnessed the incident told WBZ-TV.

The police said the woman could not remember what caused her to swerve, and WBZ reported that no charges were brought against her.

Despite the other sign being knocked into a gas pump, no fuel was leaked during the incident.
