Individuals attempting to access the Drudge Report were unable to do so early Tuesday morning.
The popular news website was offline for an unknown reason, along with World Net Daily, another popular news source for conservatives.
"This webpage is not available," an error message in one popular Internet browser read.
It was not clear if the websites had fallen victim to a hack, if their host was experiencing an outage, or if scheduled maintenance rendered them inaccessible.
The outage occurred hours after the FBI warned that hackers had used malware to launch a cyberattack in the U.S. following a significant security breach at Sony Pictures Entertainment last week. That particular story was significantly highlighted on the Drudge Report Monday.
Matt Drudge, the operator of the Drudge Report, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheBlaze.
It was unknown the last time the Drudge Report went offline. At the time of publication, both World Net Daily and the Drudge Report had been unavailable for more than two hours.
UPDATE:
As of 6:30 a.m. ET both websites were back online. No word yet on what happened.
