Infographic Reveals the 10 Most Popular and Shared Bible Scriptures of the Year
December 17, 2014
"We enjoy getting to see the impact the Bible App has had around the globe."
The most bookmarked, highlighted and shared Bible verse among global users of the YouVersion Bible app this year was Romans 12:2, according to a year-end report highlighting various reader metrics.
The scripture reads, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
As the result of the popularity of Romans 12:2, YouVersion — which has been downloaded to smart phones and tablets 162 million times — designated it the "2014 verse of the year."
An infographic released by YouVersion this week also shows other Bible verses — including Philippians 4:8, Philippians 4:6, Jeremiah 29:11, Matthew 6:33 and Philippians 4:7 among others — that were among the 10 most popular verses of the year.

YouVersion, which releases this data each year, expressed excitement over releasing the data analysis.
"At the end of every year, we enjoy getting to see the impact the Bible App has had around the globe and discovering which verse our users engaged with the most," Bobby Gruenewald, the founder of the app, said in a statement released Wednesday. "Year after year, the main trend we see is that a growing number of people across all generations and cultures desire to connect with the Bible digitally."
The YouVersion team also recently put together a real-time counter to monitor how many times users around the world read the Christmas story throughout the month of December. So far, Luke 2 has been read more than 9.1 million times this month.
