A man was being arrested on outstanding charges and opened fire on the deputies.
A suspect was killed and two deputies were injured during a shootout in a Florida supermarket parking lot Sunday afternoon, Orange County deputies told WFTV-TV in Orlando.

A man was being arrested on outstanding charges and opened fire on the deputies, a family friend told WKMG-TV. The deputies returned fire and struck the man, a witness told WKMG. The incident took place in a Publix parking lot.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office tweeted that a man opened fire and then deputies returned fire, killing the suspect:
Sheriff enroute from ORMC to scene. 2 dep w/nonlife threat. injuries after W/M suspect fired upon them. Dep returned fire killing suspect.

The deputies involved suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital, WFTV said.
