Jason Whitlock destroyed by Mike Hill over racial evisceration of LeBron James: 'Media whore

Jason Whitlock was excoriated over his criticism of LeBron James, who on Wednesday detailed a racially motivated crime done on his personal property.

James told reporters that the n-word had been spray-painted on a gate outside of his Los Angeles home, and noted that it's "being black in America is tough."

James admitted that he was shaken by the incident, and reported it to police, who are investigating the graffiti as a hate crime.

Whitlock, for his part, endured much criticism on Thursday after taking a hard stance against James and his allegations of racism and what it means to be black in America.

During Thursday's airing of "The Herd," Whitlock denounced James' claims of racism, saying that the basketball player "has removed himself from the damages and the ravages of real racism," as it mostly pertains to the poor.

“You know Lebron’s comment about no matter how rich you are,” Whitlock said to Colin Cowherd, “no matter how famous you are, it’s tough being black in America.”

“That is a lie!” he cried.

“It’s not tough being Oprah Winfrey, it’s not tough being Lebron James. It’s not tough being Jason Whitlock,” he continued. “When I leave here today, I’m gonna drive to Wilshire boulevard, get out of my car, and throw the keys to my car to some white or Latino man who’s gonna say, ‘Mr. Whitlock, anything I could do for you today?'”

Hammering the final nail into the coffin, Whilock said, “To sit here and say, ‘Oh my God, my house was vandalized in L.A., and on the eve of this greatest sporting event, I am traumatized – it’s just not true.”

Mike Hill, one of Whitlock's Fox Sports colleagues, denounced Whitlock's statements on Twitter on Friday and he did not hold back.

"@WhitlockJason has a right to his opinion, so I have a right to say this opinion of his is dumb & reckless as hell," Hill began. "For him to even suggest that because LeBron is rich shields him from racism is preposterous & just plain dumb."

Hill added, "I'd say Jason's rhetoric is way more damaging than anything LeBron said yesterday. Once again, same network, FAR DIFFERENT views. Smh."

"When you're saying stuff jst for the shock value or think it's going to bring attention 2u, you're jst a media whore," he continued on his Twitter diatribe. "Selling it 4 attention."

Hill concluded, "Racism, against blacks, Jews, Asians, whites etc has no tax bracket or cares about your popularity. In fact, in some cases it incites it. I'm done. He gets no more of the attention, he's craving, from me."
